Despite the halfway point of the summer transfer window, stars such as Zaha, De Gea, Ramos and Eden Hazard are still looking for new clubs.
Wilfrid Zaha: The 30-year-old winger's contract with Crystal Palace expires from 1 July. Renewal talks with the club did not go as expected, leaving Zaha still to find a new place to go just over a month before the transfer window closed. Zaha's priority remains playing in Europe. Paris Saint-Germain, Lazio and Roma are considering signing. Saudi Arabian club Riyadh Victory is also looking to lure him with an attractive salary.
David De Gea: Like Zaha, De Gea was rejected by the club. After offering a salary of $270,000 a week (half of the $590,000 a week under their original contract), United changed their mind and offered a lower salary. As a result, after 12 years at Manchester United, De Gea decided to leave. The Spanish goalkeeper faces the possibility of joining Bayern or Atletico Madrid as a substitute goalkeeper, or heading to Saudi Arabia.
Adama Traore: Traore has been with Wolves for many years but has yet to agree on a contract extension. The fact that Traore has not been in contact with any Premier League side this summer is unbelievable for a player, according to the Daily Mail. The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career. If he wants to improve his record of 194 Premier League games, the Spaniard may have to opt for a promoted polo team. Otherwise, Traore would most likely have to return to Spain, or travel to Saudi Arabia.
Jesse Jesse Lingard: Nottingham Forest managed relegation but did not renew Jesse Lingard's contract. They don't want to continue paying the highest salary in the team to a player who didn't score or assist in 17 Premier League games last season. Other clubs are also not interested in Jesse Lingard. Most consider the 30-year-old attacking midfielder to be outdated and a "never-shining star". Jesse Lingard may have to travel to the United States or Saudi Arabia to continue his career.
Sergio Ramos: Paris Saint-Germain did not sign Ramos again after the end of his two-year contract. Former manager Christophe Galtier described the 37-year-old as an "important player in the dressing room", but the club's top brass want to revamp the backline. Old club Sevilla FC cannot afford Ramos' salary, and he may go to the Saudi club or the Miami Internacional team that former teammate Messi has just joined. Experience and personal influence are the two main strengths of the player, who has won four Champions Leagues, two European Cups and one World Cup.
James Rodríguez: The former Real Madrid star became a free agent in April after agreeing to an early termination of his contract with Olympiacos (Greece). The 32-year-old midfielder played 23 games for Olympiacos in just eight months, scoring five goals. His performance did not convince the club's hierarchy. Ronaldo is still waiting for a sufficiently attractive offer. Prior to Olympiacos, the 2014 World Cup top scorer played for Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern, Everton and Al Reyan (Qatar).
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain-Chamberlain: Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of four stars whose contracts have expired with Liverpool this summer, along with Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and James Milner. While the three former team-mates quickly found new positions, the 29-year-old England player remained idle. Before his contract expired, Chamberlain attracted interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle and Brighton. Last season, he played just 13 games in all competitions. If brought in by a team from the bottom half of the Premier League table, Oxlade-Chamberlain will have a better chance of playing.
Alexis Sanchez: The Chilean star has just terminated his contract with Marseille a year early. According to the Daily Mail, Sanchez is leaving European football. The 34-year-old striker is past his peak and no longer attracts the attention of top clubs. He is likely to travel to Saudi Arabia and join the Alfah club. Last season, Al Fah finished sixth in the Saudi Pro League.
Eden Hazard: Eden Hazard is the fastest depreciating player in the last four years. Real Madrid bought it for $110 million, but the former Chelsea star played just 76 games and scored seven goals. This summer, Real Madrid must terminate his contract a year early. Eden Hazard became a free agent but has yet to find a new owner after more than a month. What makes some clubs reluctant to bring in Eden Hazard is his overweight, poor form and lack of positive spirit. The 32-year-old faces the possibility of retiring or moving to clubs outside Europe.
Lucas Mora: The 30-year-old has yet to find a new club after leaving Tottenham Hotspur for more than a month. According to the Daily Mail, top clubs have rejected Mora. Mora had to consider less attractive offers from Italy, Saudi Arabia and the United States. Mora scored 46 goals for Paris Saint-Germain and 39 for Tottenham. Many fans remember Moura's hat-trick in the second leg of the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals to help Tottenham beat Ajax 3-2 to advance to the final.
