Microsoft is applying AI to all of its products and services, from Bing to Microsoft Office 365 to Windows 11, and the OpenAI-powered ChatGPT AI experience is everywhere.

New version of Windows 11 released: taskbar never merged, new version of File Explorer

Microsoft just added artificial intelligence to the Windows 11 Store, dubbed the "AI Hub." This feature is currently only available to users in the United States, and you can experience it by clicking the start menu, setting "Settings">"Language and Region" > "Country or Region" to the United States, and updating the app store version to 22306.1401.1.0.

AI Hub is located in a new tab in the Microsoft Store, and as you can see from the screenshot below, it's a new way to discover the AI experience of Windows 11. The app store automatically detects an AI-based app or game and provides a list of apps for the AI experience.

AI Hub uses Microsoft's AI technology to provide a curated collection of AI applications developed by Microsoft and the developer community. This includes a variety of applications, from creative tools like Luminar Neo and Lensa, to productivity-enhancing tools like Descript, Krisp, and Podcastle, and even trip planning software like Tripnotes.

The next update to the Microsoft Store will add an "AI-generated review summary" to help users learn more quickly about the app and its features.

For example, users no longer need to read reviews or use filters, and Microsoft's AI provides snippets of user reviews for apps and games. This AI-based feature can save users time by quickly highlighting key feedback, both positive and negative, from thousands of applications they use.

The third new feature is a new AI-based tool for developers to optimize the discoverability of applications in the Microsoft Store.

An app's ranking in the Microsoft Store is based on descriptions, metadata, search tags, and other factors such as reviews. Now, Microsoft's AI developer platform can analyze existing metadata and suggest search tags to optimize an app's ranking in search.

In addition to the Microsoft Store AI update, Windows 11 has released a preview update that adds Windows Copilot to the taskbar. Windows Copilot allows you to turn on/off features such as Dark Mode, Do Not Disturb Mode, Night Mode, and more.

Microsoft is building an AI future for Windows 11, but it still has a long way to go.
