Recalling that 46 years ago, the Longfeng River flooded Nanzhangjia Village in Songgu Township, and the Yinhui Reservoir in Pingyao County flooded the villages of Beixinwu Commune, Beixinwu and other villages, Yi'an Commune, Dongxi Daji and "Sanzhai" (Sunjiazhai, Liujiazhai, and Xijiazhai), and other villages, writing it may have some reference significance for current flood prevention and disaster fighting.

In 1977, my fourth year of work, I was 27 years old and an ordinary cadre of the Songu commune. I remember the night of July 5th, when dark clouds rolled overnight, thunder continued and heavy rain flowed. I read more books at night, slept late, and didn't get up at eight or nine o'clock the next day. In my sleep, Director Che Jingshan of the commune stood in front of my window and shouted to me: "Qiming still doesn't get up? Nanzhangjiazhuang was also flooded! Get up and go to Nanzhangjiazhuang for disaster relief! "When I heard this, I realized that the situation was urgent, so I quickly got up and dressed, and without thinking about anything else, opened the door and went out to the commune compound, where I saw that the leaders and comrades were nowhere to be seen, empty. Presumably, they had already rushed to the disaster relief site before me. I had to hurry to the south of Zhangjiazhuang on foot alone. Nanzhangjia Village is not far from the old Song Ancient Commune, that is, the appearance of three or four huali. When a person walked to the entrance of the West Village of Nanzhangjiazhuang, he saw that the village had been flooded by more than one person, and he could not enter the village directly. South Zhangjia Village is high in the south and low in the north, and a torrent from south to north on the north and south streets in the village has formed a rolling river, and the wooden planks, purlins and other wood in the people's yard, as well as a basket of flour that has been dried, floats like a small boat with the water to the lower places behind the village.
Seeing this serious situation, I went around the west of the village and looked upstream to the south, and when I came to the entrance of the flood at the south entrance of the village, I heard the sound of crying, and I followed the sound and entered the courtyard. This is a few old-fashioned cave dwellings built southwest of the village entrance, sitting north facing south, not too long, and even the courtyard walls and street gates are not perfect. Housewives had drowned, covering the bodies with oilcloths on the roof of the kiln. There were also transferred sewing machines on the top of the kiln, and several hens and roosters were also lying on the top in good manners, as if they knew that a natural disaster had occurred. According to an insider next to him, when he found that the flood came, the housewife was the only one at home at first, and he first carried the most valuable beloved sewing machine to the top of the kiln, carried the goo chicken to the top of the kiln, and then returned home to move things. At this time, the flood water rushed in, washing her to the ground, and she could no longer get up, forming a tragedy. Only after the floodwaters receded did the bodies be lifted to the roof of the kiln.
The woman who drowned was born in my neighboring village, Xidaji, and I only knew it when I saw the relatives who called the head of my mother's house. At the time of burial, the coffin was paid for by the commune at that time.
This tragedy tells people that once in distress, saving life comes first, and nothing else matters.
At the same time, I was also thinking that the so-called "flood beast" was not false at all, it can be seen that the water at that time was fierce, breaking the window and breaking the door, not giving people a chance to survive.
After a short stay to see the situation of this house, I knew that the break of the flood was not far from the Shihe Railway Bridge in the south of Nanjiazhuang Village at that time. It was also the area of the Jinchang Coking Plant later. At this time, the county had received news that Zhao Shaode, secretary of the county party committee, led a team of the county party committee and the county revolutionary committee to direct the blocking of the breakthrough at the scene. I went to the blocking site to see what tasks the leaders were going to arrange, and what could I do?
After I arrived at the blockage site, the leader arranged for me to go back to the village and go to the brigade headquarters to answer the phone and contact the county party committee back and forth. At this time, a large number of floods have been attributed to the main channel of the Longfeng River. But from the village to the junction, it is still muddy all the way, fighting for his youth, really coming and going in the mud. Just after answering, after making a phone call, then another phone call, another gag asking for rope, an axe to cut down trees... Run after run. I don't remember how many times I ran, but when I slept in Nanzhangjia Village that night, I only felt that my sore legs and arms had nowhere to rest. Difficulty falling asleep for a while.
On June 7, the flooding volume of the Longfeng River decreased, and the river channel fell normally. The villagers of Nanzhangjiazhuang had all moved to the neighboring village of Songgu the day before to avoid the disaster. The leaders of the commune arranged for me to assist Comrade Liang Jikui, member of the Party Committee and secretary of the Youth League Committee, in organizing and directing the militia in all villages to continue to strengthen and restore the water damage project, and worked for three consecutive days. Early on the morning of the second day of the disaster, across the flow of the Longfeng River, I saw two officers looking like PLA troops coming all the way upstream on the eastern river beach, looking for something. I saw them pick up a military hat for a while, and find a military uniform a while later. Later, I heard that the garrison upstream dug wells in the Longfeng River beach to obtain water in order to use water for the construction site. At night, two soldiers were on duty, surrounded by floods and washed down the well, it is estimated that the remains of these two fighters are also difficult to find, right? It has also been forty-six years since the two fallen soldiers were entered into the Martyrs' Register.
During this period, it was reported that the villages of Bei Xin Wu Commune, Bei Xin Wu and Nghe An Commune, Dongxi Daji, and "Sanzhai" were also flooded at the same time. Fortunately, my home is on a higher ground and I am not too worried.
After basically completing the three-day work in Nanzhangjia Village, I asked the leader for leave and wanted to go back to take a look. All the way on foot, crossing the river and wading through the water, all with a good water nature that I have practiced in the Fenhe River since childhood, and the passage is unimpeded.
My yard has just seen the water, and it can be said that it is safe and sound. But there are quite a few houses in the village that flood the water. My friend Wang Wenhui's house is an old kiln with low ground. There was more than a meter of water in the cave in the courtyard, and I went into the water to help move furniture, large urns, etc.
In the blink of an eye, forty-six years have passed. Natural disasters are a hurdle that mankind cannot bypass, and the ruthlessness of fire and water is a fact that everyone knows. And the flood is equated with the beast.
Deeply studying the reasons why Nanzhangjiazhuang was hit by the flooding of the Longfeng River, I personally believe that in order to increase cultivated land and expand cultivated land in the Xuedazhai Movement, the river channel was seriously squeezed and artificially forced the water flow to change direction. At that time, the Shunshui Dam was only built with "three-stone mud". The quality is not high, so the extraordinarily large torrent of the Longfeng River broke through the dam body of more than ten or twenty meters and rushed straight towards Zhangjia Village in the south.
People have humanity, water has waterways. In special years, poor waterways will eventually lead to disaster. This must not be ignored. To this end, it is a perfect solution to dredge the river channel and strengthen the dikes to leave enough flood space for floods that have not been encountered for many years.
The main reason for the flooding of some villages in the area of Beixinwu and Yi'an in 77 years was the bursting of the embankment of the Yinhui Reservoir in Pingyao, located in the southeast of our city. Therefore, in the flood control of our city, we should take into account that the large and medium-sized reservoirs upstream of our are a number of large and small water basins hanging over our heads, and it is unknown when they pour down. We have suffered this in the past, and we should be taught a lesson and be vigilant.
