"Reading Architecture", "Exploring the Museum", "Watching Stamps 'Talk'", "Listening to Model Workers", "Chatting with Parents" With the arrival of summer vacation, 30 groups of families in Hongkou walked into the Shanghai Postal Museum, and children and parents started a study activity together.
The research activity with the theme of "Mailing, Growing Up Together - Following the Model Worker Family" was jointly planned and carried out by Hongkou District Education Bureau, Hongkou District Education College, Hongkou District School Family Education Research and Guidance Center and Shanghai Education Television.
The 30 groups of families participating in the activity were Hongkou students and their parents from 11 primary and secondary schools, including Hongkou District No. 2 Central Primary School, Hongkou District No. 4 Central Primary School, Shanghai Chengzhi Junior High School, and Shanghai Zhongshan Junior High School. On the same day, 30 groups of families carried out family parent-child project learning by following model workers to search, learning with model workers, and following model workers to experience three major activity sections.

In the section of "Follow Model Workers to Search", Zhou Peiyuan, ambassador of Shanghai "Architecture Can Read" and distinguished professor of "Model Workers Workshop" in Hongkou District, led everyone to "read" architecture, feel the beauty of the architecture of the Postal Museum, experience the connotation of the historical changes of the Postal Museum, and understand the historical mission she carries.
In the exploration museum link, children and parents can watch various precious physical exhibits in the ancient postal station, modern post, Republic of China post, workers' movement, modern post and other periods through the postal museum, watch and experience RFID mail sorting prototypes, postal hub models, postal appliances, smart mailbox and other exhibits, combined with multimedia application means to demonstrate the course of a letter and postal network architecture, etc., to understand the past, present and future of the post.
Learn from model workers
Children and parents also "follow model workers to learn." In the stamp viewing session, Li Longgen, Director of the Youth Working Committee of the Shanghai Philatelic Association and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Zhongxiaolu Philatelic Foundation, told the story of the stamp and felt the historical accumulation of excellent traditional culture.
Shi Jinhu, a national postal model worker, winner of the National May Day Labor Medal and lecturer of the "Model Worker Workshop" lecturer group, shared with everyone his story of uprightness, innovation, pioneering and enterprising in ordinary positions, and talked freely about promoting the spirit of model workers in the new era.
In the "Chat with Parents" session afterwards, parents and student representatives shared with families "My Story with Stamps", "My Story with Letters", "My Story with the Oriental Newsstand" and "My Story with the Postman".
Experience with model workers
In the last section of the activity, "Follow Model Workers to Experience", families learned about the development process of postal services and the knowledge of letter delivery through project-based learning; By writing, stamping, and sending a postcard, learn to write letters, write your heart's words to your parents, and send a good wish to your relatives and friends.
This activity with the participation of children and parents kicked off the summer vacation life of Hongkou students, and also opened a family study journey integrating "red education + model worker spirit education + home style tutoring education", demonstrating the good situation of collaborative education of "active leadership of schools, active responsibility of families, and effective support from society".
