Bank of Communications (Bank of Communications (BOCOM, Chinese abbreviated as Bank of Communications) was founded in 1908, with assets of 12.99 trillion yuan in 2022, it is one of the six major banks in China, one of the oldest banks in China, and one of the banknote issuing banks in modern China. On April 1, 1987, the re-established Bank of Communications officially opened to the public, becoming China's first national state-owned joint-stock commercial bank, with its head office in Shanghai. Bank of Communications was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in June 2005 and on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in May 2007.

Bank of Communications is one of the major financial service providers in China, and the Group's business scope covers commercial banking, securities, trust, financial leasing, fund management, insurance, offshore financial services, etc. Bank of Communications has 235 domestic branches, including 30 provincial branches, 7 directly affiliated branches, 199 provincial-administered branches, and 3,270 business outlets in 239 prefecture-level cities and above, 158 counties or county-level cities. It has 7 non-banking subsidiaries, including wholly-owned subsidiaries BOCOM Leasing, BOCOM Insurance, BOCOM Investment, and holding subsidiaries BOCOM Fund, BOCOM Guoxin, BOCOM Life and BOCOM International. In addition, Bank of Communications is also the largest shareholder of Changshu Rural Commercial Bank and the joint largest shareholder of Bank of Tibet, and has strategically invested in Bank of Hainan and controlled 4 rural banks.

In July 2019, the 2019 Fortune Global 500 was released: ranked 150th. The "Belt and Road" Top 100 Chinese Enterprises ranked 18th.
