Yue Lai Fang has a history of 95 years and condenses many childhood memories of Putuo people. Every year, when the mooncakes are fragrant, the surrounding residents will come to Yuelaifang to buy a box of crispy and juicy fresh meat mooncakes. However, in addition to the fresh meat mooncakes that the public often buys, this long-established brand also hides an authentic Beijing-style mooncake - "turning hair mooncake". There was still a long distance from the storefront, and I saw a long queue, and as soon as I entered the store, the rich smell of cake came to my face. Many of the customers in the queue are "loyal fans" of Yuelaifang, and even some diners drive for 40 minutes just to ask "when can I book the mooncake". "Turning hair mooncake" carries the warm taste of Yuelaifang, as an "intangible cultural heritage on the tip of the tongue", its whole body is milky white, round as light. The crust is rich in layers and soft in texture, as fine as cotton paper, and with a gentle touch of the hand, the crust will fall down. The filling is also extremely exquisite, and the nuts are clear and sweet.
Every year in the Mid-Autumn Festival, diners will book early, just to eat that mouthful of incense and beauty. Due to the strict requirements of material selection and cumbersome process, the woolen mooncake only accepts reservations, and a total of 3,000 pieces have been produced this year. After a hundred years of vicissitudes, Yuelaifang adheres to the complex production process of turning the hair mooncake and adheres to this traditional taste.
