According to the article, Midea Group has established a large-scale air-conditioning production plant in Thailand, which covers an area of 208,000 square meters and a total investment of more than 1 billion yuan, which was fully put into operation in November 2022. Midea Air Conditioner Thailand Factory has 6 production lines, mainly producing split, window, mobile air conditioning and other products, which are mainly sold to ASEAN, the Middle East, North America and other regions.
The factory brings together the best practices accumulated by Midea Group for many years, such as industrial Internet, automation, informatization, lean logistics, etc., and combines with a new generation of digital technology to create Midea's largest intelligent digital factory overseas. At the same time, the intelligent digital construction of the factory opens up the whole value chain of R&D, production, sales, supply, and service, and realizes five "end-to-end" intelligent digital applications.
Midea's air conditioning plant in Thailand has an overall planned annual production capacity of 4 million units, of which 1.2 million units are planned to be produced in 2023, and is expected to become one of the largest air conditioning production bases in Thailand and even Southeast Asia after full completion in 2025.
In addition, Midea Air Conditioner has established an ASEAN R&D center based on the existing factory, upgrading the factory to an overseas base integrating R&D, production and marketing, and further enhancing the market competitiveness of Midea Air Conditioner in the ASEAN region. At the same time, Midea will further strengthen local operations and local talent training, and promote local supply chain and industrial support.
In terms of corporate culture construction and talent training, Midea Air Conditioning Thailand Factory has participated in many charitable donations from the local government in recent years, supporting school construction and community welfare activities in remote areas, giving full play to the wisdom and enthusiasm of local employees.
It is reported that at present, Midea Group has four overseas production bases in Thailand, namely Welling Motor Factory in Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani refrigerator and washing machine production plant, Nonthaburi refrigerator, microwave oven, household appliance factory and Chonburi air conditioning factory. Thailand has a fast growth rate and large market demand, and is the key area of Midea's global breakthrough strategy.
