Shang Shu Notes 17: Self-inflicted sins, do not live

author:Feel a new life

After Shang Tang's death, his grandson Taijia succeeded him as emperor, assisted by Yi Yin. Taijia did not know the funeral rites, and Yi Yin exiled him to the Tong Palace, the cemetery of Shang Tang, to make him think of repentance. In three years, Taijia was able to change his past, missing Chang Dao, and Yi Yin fu welcomed him back to Shangdu. Yi Yin composed three "TaiJia", recording Yi Yin's loyal precepts between the initial establishment, exile, and return of Tai Jia.

Yi Yin of the Taijia Zhong warns: "After the people are not, they are recklessly born; after the people are not the people, they are reckless to break the four directions." The Emperor heaven blessed the merchants, and the heir Wang Ke was finally virtuous, and there was no boundary in the world. "The people are not the Son of Heaven, and they cannot live together; the Son of Heaven is not the people, but should be able to rule over the four sides." The Emperor's care for Yin Shang enables you to end your virtues and realize the boundless beauty of all the worlds. Tai Jia bowed to the head of the hand and said, "Heaven has done evil, but it is still possible to disobey it; "逭 means to flee, which means that natural disasters can be avoided, and there is no way to live if you make a disaster yourself."

That's true for all. The king, the people, should know more than the people. If you do not practice the right path, if the King of Shangyi is infatuated, he will do his own sins and will undoubtedly die. In the event of an ominous omen that indicates misconduct, it is not self-inflicted to look back on the right path in time. Yin Shang had two Ming Jun, who could cultivate himself in time when there was an ominous omen, namely Tai Peng and Wu Ding.

Yi Yin's son Yi Zhifu Tai Peng, the Shang capital, had an ominous omen: the Sanggu valley on the court was born together. The people in the hall are not the place where the mulberry valley grows, and the growth of the mulberry valley shows that the son of heaven has not ascended to the hall for a long time, and there are few people. This is the same as "the flowing water is not corrupt, the household center is not beetle" and "the lively road does not grow grass". If the Son of Heaven does not ascend to the court, political affairs will be absurd, as evidenced by the last Son of Heaven in the Shang Dynasty. Worried, Yi Zhi told the sage Wu Xian about this matter, and the two of them worked together to abstain from the affairs of the king. Although the four parts of the Shang Shu Xian Qi have been lost, and it is impossible to know its specific words, only from the continuation of the Yin Zhi Sect, it can be seen that Tai Peng knew its righteousness well, learned lessons, and devoted himself to government affairs.

Wu Ding was a famous monarch of a generation, highly respectable, and his courtesy name was Gaozong. One day, when Wu Ding was sacrificed into soup, there was a long chirping of the flying pheasant rising in the ear. Just imagine, what a solemn and solemn occasion, what a loud pheasant chirp, what an anachronistic scene! The pheasant is a wild bird, should not enter the house, suddenly enter the temple, the ear of the ascension is high, it must be during that time, Wu Ding was confused by the Yu people, there is a warning to the Son of Heaven to be blind and deaf. There is also a saying that the ancient ding is three-legged, symbolizing the three gongs, and carrying the ears. The ascension of the wild bird to the top of the ear is a metaphor for the villain to ascend to the throne, which is a sign of the loser. The Sage Emperor Zu himself wrote "The Day of Emperor Gaozong", warning the Son of Heaven for his immorality and causing this ominous omen, and admonishing Wu Ding to change his political virtue with moral instructions, and Wu Ding sincerely accepted it.
