Before the start of the event, the participants watched the promotional video of Jinan No. 1 Middle School in Shandong Province. At the meeting, Ruan Ye, director of the Red Culture Research Center of the Marxist College of Xinjiang University, introduced the heroic deeds of the martyr Qi Tianmin to everyone: "Qi Tianmin, formerly known as Qi Yanpei, was born in August 1910 in Jinan City, Shandong Province, to a family of teachers with patriotic traditions. After graduation, Qi Tianmin immersed himself in field archaeology, participated in the excavation of Yin Ruins, and wrote many papers. In 1937, he went to Yan'an to devote himself to the cause of communism, and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. In the following year, he was sent to Xinjiang to engage in anti-Japanese united front work, serving as the secretary of Xinjiang College and the head of the Department of Education. In the spring of 1939, he was sent to Hami as the director of the Hami District Education Bureau, during which he built additional schools and trained teachers, laying the foundation for Hami's educational cause. He died in the line of duty at the end of 1939 at the age of 29. Director Ruan's affectionate narration made everyone present moved.
As one of the top ten martyrs of the Urumqi Martyrs' Cemetery, Qu Kang, chief of the Education Section of the Urumqi Martyrs' Cemetery, gave a detailed introduction to the general situation of the cemetery and the burial of the martyrs of Qi Tianmin. Then, Principal Qi Kunjing of Jinan No. 1 Middle School video-linked teacher Jiang Yuhang, who said: "I hope that Teacher Jiang can assist Xinjiang on behalf of the school, work hard, teach seriously, and the school will give full help and support when encountering difficulties."
Then, President Kui led the participants to watch the exhibition of Qi Tianmin's martyr deeds and visit the school history museum, feeling the mellow cultural atmosphere and long tradition of educating people in Jinan. President Qi said: "The martyr Qi Tianmin has linked Jinan No. 1 Middle School and Xinjiang University, which is the common pride and glory of our two schools. At the end of the event, the Committee of the Marxist College of Xinjiang University of the Communist Party of China and the Committee of Jinan No. 1 Middle School in Shandong Province signed a joint cooperation intention to promote the further development of the red culture construction of the two universities.
