Relatively speaking, in other countries, this movie is not as popular as in South Korea, and the other two protagonists in the "Ding Youwu Rebellion" in China and Japan caused an uproar.
Chinese audiences are dissatisfied that during the Wanli Korean War, the Ming army did not hesitate to return the favor to help the DPRK to resist Japan, and tried to save the DPRK, but there is no mention of the Ming army entering the DPRK in this movie, and it seems that the entire war was won by the DPRK itself. What is the origin of this island pass that is so loud in the movie? As in the movie, there are only about twelve or three warships on the North Korean side, but the "Miscellaneous Records of Chaos" mentions that the North Korean naval army has "more than a hundred boats to avoid chaos and only support themselves in the rear", that is, some refugee ships. Of course, like the Hollywood movie "Spartan 300 Warriors", these "chaos boats" have also been erased by the movie.
The Japanese record of the Battle of Naruhira is actually not very much, because this naval battle had no impact on the Japanese offensive except for the death of a small daimyo Raishima Tsuneyoshi. Of course, we can still see a glimpse of this from the report letter written by Takato Fujido and others to Ishida Sansei and others on September 18, included in the Maori Takato Documents:

The letter mentions that due to strong winds, the Japanese army stopped the large ship (Anzai ship) at Kawaguchi, led only the smaller seki ships out of the battle, and then encountered fourteen large ships and hundreds of small boats of the Korean navy at Mingliang.
The records of the strength of the North Korean and Japanese naval forces are not very different, and the main force of the Korean naval forces is only more than ten warships. In addition, the Japanese army also mentioned the support of the Korean naval army and small boats, presumably those "boats that avoid chaos" recorded in the "Miscellaneous Records of Chaos". Of course, the combat effectiveness of these small boats is basically negligible, and it only plays the role of a suspicious soldier.
However, according to the Japanese, it was not the main force of the naval forces that participated in the battle of the Mingliang Sea, and the large warships such as the Anzai ship did not participate in the battle, and the Japanese army's first warships were only fast and flexible ships, which were also the first fronts led by the general Lyshima Tong mentioned in the "Miscellaneous Records of Chaos". Japan did not mention the number of warships involved in the war, but if it were only the first line, there would not be too many ships.

Koreans have always claimed that the "Battle of Naruyang" was a "great victory" that defeated the crowd with an underdog, and the same is true in the movie, after Lee Shun-chan defeated the Japanese army's first line of Raishima Tōsō, he led the warship towards Fujido Takaho and Wakosaka Yasuji to kill, defeating the Japanese army.
But is this really the case?
According to Li Shunchen's "Diary of Chaos", when Li Shunchen faced the Japanese army at the Battle of Mingliang, except for his own ships, the rest of the ships were stagnant, and Jin Yiqiu's warships even retreated regardless of the main general. It was not until Li Shunchen raised the "flaunting flag" that the two warships of The Order of Anwei of Geoje County and Jin Yingchen of the Chinese army slowly joined the battle.
In the movie, An Wei and Jin Yingchen attacked alone after seeing the flag, and although they were trained by Li Shunchen, they at least created a feeling of "the wind is xiao xiao and the water is cold", which is still a more positive image. However, in Li Shunchen's diary, it is another scene:
"The thief ship is imminent, the situation is in a mess, under the order of the Lizhong Army, the flag is waved, Jin Yingchen is approaching the ship, and the Juxian Security Ship is also arriving." That is to say, as described in the movie, when Li Shunchen faced the Japanese army, he only used his own handsome ship to meet the battle, and only after raising the flag did the warship march, and later under the threat of his military law, An Wei and Jin Yingchen fought with the Japanese water army with their scalps. It can be seen that An Wei and Kim Young-hyun are not as majestic as in the movie, but this is also understandable, after all, if the Koreans except Lee Sun-chan in the whole movie are instigated, it is not called the main theme movie.
After a day of fighting, Li Shunchen claimed to have "suppressed" two enemy ships and "crashed" thirty enemy ships. South Koreans believe that "collision" refers to the sinking of Japanese warships by North Korean naval warships, but the Japanese believe that the records at that time did not show that Korean warships were useful for collision angles and other structures, believing that "collision" was only to defeat ships, not sink.
Of course, after the Battle of Mingliang, Li Shunchen immediately led the water army to withdraw, and the Japanese side no longer pursued the Korean water army because it was getting late and unfamiliar with the sea tide. By the time Tengdo Gaohu sent the Guan ship again the next day to inspect it, Mingliang was completely without the presence of the North Korean ships.
The South Koreans' claim to have defeated hundreds of Japanese warships and killed more than eight thousand Japanese soldiers is clearly not in keeping with history. It should be known that according to the records of the Japanese side, the number of Japanese troops who participated in the battle during the Battle of Naruya, plus the main fleet with the Anzai ship that did not fight, did not exceed 8,000 people.
Judging from the fact that after the war, the Korean naval forces gave up their sea supremacy and retreated, and the Japanese army captured the Korean water army's base area, right water camp and Jindo, although the Japanese army suffered losses at the Battle of Mingliang, it did not hurt its bones, but continued to march with the established battle plan. In contrast, judging from the fact that the Korean water army did not move for a long time after this, this so-called "great victory" was probably only a small-scale confrontation with the Japanese water army forwards.

In the Description of the Koreans, the Turtle Ship is like the sea tank of that era, in addition to being equipped with heavy firepower, it can also directly crash into the Japanese naval formation, as if entering no man's land, it will crash into the Japanese warship without exception.

However, in most of the historical data, there is no mention of the turtle ship that the Koreans called, whether it is the Ming Dynasty or japan, it seems that the Koreans do not know that the Koreans have such a big killer. In addition, such a powerful warship as the "Turtle Ship" has no construction drawings or any prototypes. The turtle boats we see now are all imagined and restored by contemporary Koreans, and even if there are "turtle boats" built according to the assumption of one-to-one, their weight is simply difficult to launch.
In this regard, Koreans said that the "turtle ship" is a secret weapon ahead of the times, so it is normal that no drawings remain. In South Korea, historians who question the existence of turtle ships are labeled "Korean traitors."
