In order to further carry forward the national spirit with patriotism as the core, strengthen patriotic education, and stimulate the enthusiasm of the vast number of young students to study hard, forge ahead, and serve the motherland, on the occasion of commemorating the 84th anniversary of the "12.9" movement, teachers and students of Hunan Institute of Engineering took active actions to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs in the form of study forums, centralized joining ceremonies, and winter long-distance running, and integrated the progressive significance of the "12.9" movement into the connotation of the times.
On December 7th, the school held a study seminar to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the "12.9" Movement, and the main cadres of the school's tuanxue organization conducted learning exchanges around the theme of "Youth is at the Right Time, Expressing My Patriotism". Combined with their own study and work experiences, they all talked about their understanding and experience of remembering the heroic deeds of their predecessors, inheriting and carrying forward the party's fine traditions, and cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism. Student representatives recited literary works and classic commentaries related to the "12.9" Movement and the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement one by one to express their patriotic feelings. The seminar stressed that as contemporary college students, we should clarify our historical mission and responsibility, remember yesterday, cherish today, look forward to tomorrow, and work hard for the rise of China.
At 7:00 a.m. on December 9, the new development team members concentrated on the entrance ceremony was held in the school's Zhixing Square, and after the solemn flag-raising ceremony, the on-site teachers wore the regimental emblem for the new members. In the face of the bright red regiment flag, 107 members of the New Development League solemnly swore an oath and studied the "RegimentAl Seal" on the spot, and they expressed their firm communist beliefs and patriotic feelings with loud and firm oaths, and also showed the spirit of contemporary young students. Lei Yixiang of Software Engineering Class 1702 and Zhu Huiran of Industrial Engineering Class 1901 delivered keynote speeches on "Inheriting the National Soul and Youth Patriotism" to commemorate the 12.9 Movement. With full of emotion and vivid speeches, the two lecturers vividly reproduced the revolutionary historical picture of 84 years ago for the teachers and students at the scene. On behalf of all the new development team members, Zhang Jiayi, a student of human resource management 1802 class, said that she should strive to become an excellent Communist Youth League member with ideals, ambitions, courage to climb and innovation.
At 10:00 a.m. on the 9th, more than 300 student representatives from 13 colleges participated in the "Winter Long Run" activity. Subsequently, the student representatives led the students to make a solemn patriotic oath to express the patriotic feelings of contemporary college students. The long-distance running activity was led by the student representatives holding high the regimental flag to lead the team to run, and the long-distance running was carried out in the distance of 3 circles of Zhixing Square - Mingde Basketball Court - Qinmin - Electrical Building Intersection - Zhixing Square. The long-distance running activities fully demonstrated the youthful style of contemporary college students, so that young students can remember history and remember responsibilities through competitions, so that youth can shine brilliantly in dedication.
