Biography
Zhang Qiujin is the chairman of Huizhou Daxin Group. He was the president of Huizhou Taiwan Investment Enterprise Association; in 2006, he was named "Moving Huizhou Person", and now he is an "honorary citizen" of Huizhou City.
Rooted in Huizhou for 30 years
Recalling the scene when he first came to Huizhou to invest, Zhang Qiujin said several times "very lucky".
In the mid-to-late 1980s, while the economy of Taiwan, the treasure island of the motherland, took off rapidly, the advantages of human resources were gradually lost, and labor costs soared, resulting in the gradual transfer of industries to other places.
In June 1989, Zhang Qiujin, together with more than a dozen Taiwan businessmen, came to the mainland of the motherland, which had recently been reformed and opened up, to investigate the market, and successively went to Shanghai, Xiamen and other places. "At that time, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait had not yet realized the 'three links,' and between Shanghai and Taiwan, there was a need to transfer to Hong Kong; the same was true in Xiamen, although it was only separated from Taiwan by the Taiwan Strait, but it also needed to transit in Hong Kong." Because of business relations, Zhang Qiujin has to return to Taiwan every month. So he and his friends summed up that although the Market in Shanghai is mature, the time cost is high, and it is not as convenient as Guangdong Province, which is close to Hong Kong.
Therefore, Zhang Qiujin came to Huizhou, where he was not familiar with life, to investigate. At that time, the Huizhou Municipal Government was still in Lipu Fengqing by the West Lake (now near the West Lake East Station of the Wanhui City Railway). I came to the door of the municipal government and told the guard at the door that it was a Taiwan businessman who wanted to come to Huizhou to invest. He enthusiastically led me to the office of the leader in charge of investment and economy. After understanding the situation, the leader sent a special car to take us to a number of places in Huizhou for field investigation. Zhang Qiujin said that the enthusiasm, thoughtful service and sincere attitude of the Huizhou municipal government staff deeply attracted him and more than 40 Taiwan enterprise bosses in his peers, so everyone unanimously decided to invest in Huizhou.
Unexpectedly, this foothold in Huizhou is rooted in the ground for thirty years. During this period, some Taiwan businessmen who came with them went to other places to invest in development. I have been staying in Huizhou, and I feel that this is my development blessing. Thanks to the support of governments at all levels in Huizhou, the journey has been smooth and the cause has become bigger and bigger. Zhang Qiujin said gratefully.
Call on friends to invest and develop
Zhang Qiujin has been engaged in the production of lighting and foreign trade business in Taiwan before, and after choosing to invest in Huizhou, he naturally brought the "old business" to Huizhou.
In 1991, Zhang Qiujin, who had just settled in Huizhou, first rented a 100-square-meter factory building in Jiangbian Road, Xiajiaojiangbian Road, Huicheng District, Huizhou City, where Daxin Electric Appliance Industry Co., Ltd. was established, and the company only had more than 80 employees at that time.
Today, 30 years later, Daxin Group has an industrial park covering an area of more than 1 million square meters in Chenjiang Street, Zhongkai High-tech Zone, with more than 10,000 employees, and its lighting products are exported to Europe, america and other parts of the world.
A single branch is not spring, a hundred flowers bloom in the spring and fill the garden. Zhang Qiujin, who has gained rapid development in Huizhou, moved to Huizhou with his family and mouth, and called on friends to come to Huizhou to invest and develop.
Zhang Qiujin called the Taiwan businessmen who came to Huihui to invest with him as "brothers." He said that after the brothers chose Huizhou, they basically took root in Huizhou, and some enterprising enterprises also used Huizhou as a base to march into other parts of the Pearl River Delta and cities in the Yangtze River Delta.
Since moving the factory to Huizhou, Zhang Qiujin began to live in Huizhou for a long time, basically only once a month to return to Taiwan, "365 days a year, more than 300 days I am in Huizhou, I am a member of Huizhou, Huizhou has long been my home." ”
Zhang Qiujin frankly said that when he first came to Huizhou to start a business, Taiwan businessmen encountered more or less difficult problems, but with the help of the local government, all kinds of problems were solved in a timely manner. More and more Taiwan businessmen have been impressed by the sincere service of government departments and staff at all levels in Huizhou City, and the "old Taiwan businessmen" who have started a business in Huizhou have invariably become "propagandists" for attracting investment in Huizhou, and have invited relatives and friends to invest and start a business in Huizhou. Among them, in the past 30 years, Zhang Qiujin has directly introduced nearly 100 enterprises to Huizhou.
After 2010, Taiwan enterprises, which are mainly manufacturing industries, are also facing tremendous pressure from transformation and upgrading. "If Taiwan enterprises don't transform, they are waiting for death, and if they don't turn well, they are looking for death." Zhang Qiujin's enterprises have begun to take action. In terms of employment, he pays more attention to humanistic care and staff quality improvement; in the production process, he plans to change from quantity to quality improvement, pay more attention to the refinement and diversity of products; in terms of sales, simple export sales have changed to the combination of domestic and foreign sales.
"In the past two or three years, the Huizhou Municipal Government has set up product sales platforms for local enterprises throughout the country, and Taiwan enterprises have also participated in them, which has played a great role in opening up the domestic market for Taiwan enterprises." Zhang Qiujin said.
Concerned about the education of employees' children, he founded Huizhou Zhongkai Experimental School
Zhang Qiujin also has an identity - the founder of Huizhou Zhongkai Experimental School.
Speaking of the reason for the establishment of the school, in fact, when he first came to the mainland to invest in the factory, Zhang Qiujin already had this idea. At that time, he invested in the mainland to set up a factory to operate the lighting industry, and returned to Taiwan the next year to bring the upstream and downstream manufacturers of the factory to Huizhou and complete the operation of the entire production chain.
For a time, tens of thousands of employees were recruited to settle in, and many of them brought their families from their hometowns to Huizhou with the development of the company's business.
Zhang Qiujin was very concerned about the education of the children of these employees, so he founded the Huizhou Zhongkai Experimental School, adding learning facilities that many other schools did not have. "I hope that the interests and hobbies of every student at Huizhou Zhongkai Experimental School can be met." Therefore, in addition to the basic curriculum of personality, the school has also set up 20 or 30 elective courses such as art, science, and mental health, so that children can explore the direction suitable for their own development at the primary and junior high school stage.
Zhang Qiujin, who has made money from manufacturing, is not satisfied with the status quo, and now, in his 60s, he is thinking about how to innovate and develop. On the same day that the reporter interviewed Zhang Qiujin, the person in charge of a small and medium-sized high-tech enterprise in Zhongkai High-tech Zone discussed cooperation with Zhang Qiujin. Although lighting is a lasting industry, Zhang Qiujin is more optimistic about the high-tech industry and began to look for suitable partners in the field, hoping to innovate performance after the year.
