Changzhou, July 13 (China News Network) -- On the 13th, the first Yangtze River Delta Cross-Strait Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Finals was held in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. 32 cross-strait youth entrepreneurship projects advanced to the finals and competed fiercely. This competition is one of the series of cross-strait youth exchange activities around Taihu Lake in 2021, and it is also an innovative exchange and cooperation platform created by the Yangtze River Delta region in the process of promoting integrated development and joint development for young people on both sides of the strait.

It is reported that the competition is hosted by the Sutai Youth Innovation Alliance, with the theme of "Wisdom Convergence Yangtze River Delta Sharing New Opportunities", since the launch of the registration in May, it has received great attention and enthusiastic participation from all walks of life, and many cross-strait youth innovation and entrepreneurship projects have registered for the competition. After qualification review, preliminary evaluation and publicity of projects, 32 high-quality projects advanced to the finals. Among them, there are 12 electronic information categories, 9 intelligent manufacturing categories, 4 biomedical categories, and 7 other categories. The average age of the project team is 39 years old, the minimum age is 20 years old, the core members of the project team have 14 doctoral degrees and 30 master's degrees, and the project has a total of 137 invention patents and 37 software copyrights.

Sun Jibing, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, said at the opening ceremony of the competition that the competition has been highly valued and actively supported by the Economic Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the three provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Delta, the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, the Association for Science and Technology, and other parties, which marks the authority and influence of the competition, and also reflects the high expectations and heavy responsibilities of all walks of life for Taiwan's innovative and entrepreneurial youth. It is understood that the pre-final competition also provides pragmatic counseling for the participants by holding entrepreneurial training camps. Zheng Xu, Dean of Huachuang Education Research Institute, Lv Shunhui, Director of equity research center of School of Economics, Shanghai University, Hu Hao, teaching and research staff of Peking University Development and Outdoor Research Center, and Other taiwanese youth entrepreneurship representatives, such as Chen Yinren, chairman of Shanghai Yinjia Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., provided professional counseling for participating teams and personnel, helping entrepreneurs sort out the difficulties and pain points of entrepreneurship, the ideas and logic of entrepreneurship, team building and management, and stimulating the entrepreneurial passion of the participants.

The Yangtze River Delta region is a hot spot for Taiwan businessmen and Taiwan enterprises to invest and develop their businesses. According to data from relevant Taiwan agencies, in 2020, the approved direct investment of Taiwanese capital in Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui was 2.086 billion, 803 million, 411 million and 56 million US dollars respectively, accounting for 56.3% of the mainland's total. Among them, the cooperation between Suzhou and Taiwan has achieved particularly fruitful results. According to the data, as of the end of May this year, Jiangsu Province has attracted more than 29,000 Taiwan-funded projects, the agreement to utilize Taiwan capital exceeded 192 billion US dollars, and the total investment of more than 10 million US dollars exceeded 6,400 projects, ranking the forefront of the mainland for 17 consecutive years. From January to May this year, Jiangsu approved more than 290 new Taiwan-funded projects, the agreement to utilize Taiwan capital exceeded 2.49 billion US dollars, and the trade volume between Suzhou and Taiwan was 23.64 billion US dollars, achieving double-digit growth year-on-year.

It is reported that there are nearly 1,300 Taiwan youth entrepreneurship projects growing vigorously in Jiangsu, more than 17,000 Taiwanese youth have participated in various innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and a number of outstanding Taiwanese youth entrepreneurship projects have been incubated and graduated, developed and grown.

"When young people from Taiwan come to the mainland for development, they should choose suitable youth innovation bases and demonstration points for employment and entrepreneurship, and do a good job in the 'first kilometer' of development in the mainland and walk steadily." At the award ceremony of the Cross-Strait Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Finals in the Yangtze River Delta, Yuan Ye, deputy director of the Economic Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, sent a message to Taiwan's entrepreneurial youth. It is understood that the 32 projects in the finals received a total of 210 invitations from the scene, expressing the willingness of relevant institutions to further carry out financial docking and promote the transformation of achievements.

Lin Jiahui, a young Taiwanese entrepreneur who won the first Yangtze River Delta Cross-Strait Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Finals, said in an interview with China News Network reporter: "The happiest thing is not to get the first prize, but to receive many invitations from investment institutions to contact later through such a platform."
