Remarks at the Class of 2023 Commencement and Degree Conferment

Good evening everyone!
Today, we held the graduation ceremony and degree conferment ceremony of the Class of 2023 to see off the 540 undergraduate graduates who will soon leave the university. Here, on behalf of the school, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to the students on successfully completing their undergraduate studies! Thank you to the teachers who have worked hard to nurture your talents! Sincere wishes to your parents and loved ones who have silently supported you!
Students, you are the most beautiful scenery on campus, interpreting the most wonderful stories, and leaving the most beautiful and precious struggle youth. On the occasion of parting, as a teacher, I have a few words of encouragement with you:
1. Adhere to ideals. French scientist Buster said: "Determination, work and achievement are the three major elements of human activities. Ambition is the door to career, and work is the journey to the house. A success awaits you at the end of the journey to celebrate the results of your efforts. "If you don't have clear aspirations, it's easy to fall into meaningless tosses. When the ambition is clear, you understand the direction of the effort. I hope that after you enter the society, you will take a steady step, consolidate the foundation, make contributions for a long time, always maintain a positive attitude, adhere to the unremitting pursuit of ideals and careers, behind the success is always hard work, do not be impetuous, learn one and lose one, do one line and abandon another. Especially when the journey of pursuing dreams in life faces difficulties and setbacks, do not give up lightly, and always maintain and absorb positive energy. A brilliant life must belong to those who stick to their dreams and have the courage to fight. It is hoped that intelligent students will adhere to the school motto of "Entering the Moral Profession, Bowen Dali Theory" and the school motto of "Excellence, Integrity and Innovation", have lofty aspirations, adhere to lofty ideals, maintain lifelong learning, learn to take responsibility, take the initiative to adapt to the society, create new achievements, support the future of the country, and provoke the backbone of the nation.
Second, be kind. Kindness is a noble quality, a sublime realm, the most precious thing in the world. I hope that after entering the society, students will always be able to have good intentions, have a benevolent heart, work and live with a kind heart, bring happiness to others, and bring calmness to themselves. Walking out of campus, no matter what changes in the environment, no matter how difficult and twists and turns you face, you can draw wisdom and strength from traditional Chinese culture, maintain your inner calmness and stability, and always maintain a sincerity and kindness. Always remember those who helped you in times of adversity. At the same time, when others encounter difficulties, do your best to lend a helping hand and show your kindness and nobility.
Third, align the direction. General Secretary Xi Jinping said: "Today's world is experiencing major changes unprecedented in a century, and the mainland is in a critical period of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. "The future has really come, the world is not subject to human will, rushing to an unpredictable tomorrow, and human society has entered a period of great change." On the one hand, science and technology are like wild horses out of control, and are carrying human society to the unknown world all the way to speed up and rush, reluctant day and night, unscrupulously changing everything, human beings seem to be a little busy and tired to deal with. On the other hand, the contradictions between countries are increasingly intensifying, and the developed countries of the West, represented by a certain big country, are deliberately creating contradictions between different countries in the world, suppressing countries that he considers "disobedient", and obstructing the historical process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in an all-round and multi-dimensional way. In today's Internet + intelligence, we must learn to accurately identify changes, respond scientifically, take the initiative to seek changes, adhere to lifelong learning, adhere to independent thinking, maintain correct judgment, always maintain a strong thirst for knowledge, strive to be the pillar of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, avoid blind follow, and have become a destructive force used by hostile forces at home and abroad to deal with national development.
4. Be grateful. The tree is thousands of feet tall and has its roots, and the water flow knows its source. In the journey of life, no one is an individual who exists alone, and every success and progress is inseparable from the help and support of parents, teachers, colleagues, and friends. We can't expect every student to achieve great things in life, but we hope that no matter what kind of environment they are in, they can have a beautiful and pure grateful heart.
