AI Era Network reported on June 12丨Recently, according to a survey released by Morgan Stanley, the world's top research institution, although ChatGPT is the hottest topic keyword in the current technology circle, its actual access and usage rate are far lower than expected, and lower than the imagination and expectations of most analysts.

Recently, in a ranking of the top 25 monthly traffic data from global websites, OpenAI's official website ranked 17th in the world with 1.8 billion monthly traffic after Amazon and Douyin. OpenAI's official website traffic increased by a staggering 54.21% in March, and behind this record growth was the GPT-4 model released by OpenAI on March 14, which attracted a large number of users with its excellent performance and perfect experience. This phenomenal event has given many analysts the illusion that "AIGC is out of the loop".

To that end, Morgan Stanley released a survey of 2,000 people in April, focusing primarily on the use of artificial intelligence. It was found that only 19% of respondents had used ChatGPT chatbots, while Google's Bard chatbots were even lower, at 9%, and the vast majority of people were inexplicable or even unheard of the existence of such AI chatbots. In addition, a number of respondents said that they are unlikely to use these so-called AIGC tools in the next 6 months. In other words, these tools don't make their lives much easier.

Morgan Stanley analysts wrote: "Investors need to understand that AIGC is still in a very early stage of development. They believe that people are already using chatbots for some "fireworks", and those use cases that can generate business value are still far away. For example, people have not yet started to use chatbots on a large scale to recommend products online, and these channels can bring significant traffic conversions to merchants. On the other hand, the impact of AI on e-commerce and tourism may also boost revenues, as businesses can use AI to provide more precise and personalized search and recommendation services.

According to the Morgan Stanley survey, 56% of respondents said they would first use Google search and YouTube to make travel product related queries. When it comes to online travel information, respondents are more fragmented, with 37% choosing to open Google first, while 33% prefer to use integrated travel information sites like Expedia or Booking. Morgan Stanley believes that Google is still the most influential technology giant on the planet, and Google can maintain its advantage by "providing a more comprehensive and personalized travel search service", which will be the most moatable output after the deep integration of Google search and Bard.
