Since the beginning of summer, birds have gathered in Kangba Nuoer National Wetland Park in Kangbao County. Thousands of relict gulls are roosting and breeding on the island in the center of the lake, a scene full of life.

It is understood that the Kangbao County Gull Conservation Association was registered and established in 2018 and joined the China Wildlife Conservation Association in 2019. Every year from the end of March to the beginning of April, when the remnants of the early migration fly back to Cambanol Wetland Park, the ice on the lake has not yet melted in large areas, the land on the shore is still frozen soil, and the wild is deserted. Due to severe food shortages, some gulls may be emaciated by hunger. To this end, under the guidance of a team of experts, the Gull Protection Association has solved the problem of food shortage by supplying mealworms and steamed buns to the gulls, and all the funds required come from member donations.

Since the number of remains has increased year by year, the association has also contacted the China Green Carbon Foundation and Spring Group through relevant channels, and since 2019, Spring Group has donated more than 100,000 yuan to the Kangbao Gull Protection Association every year to carry out the rescue and protection of the remaining gulls.

In addition, the members of the association also go to the countryside, communities, schools, and squares several times a year to publicize it, so that the concept of jointly protecting the remains of the Gull is well-known and deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
