Chongqing, June 5 (Xinhua) -- According to the Chinese Chess Association, the "Wulingshan Rift Valley Cup" 2023 China Chess League regular season will start in Fuling, Chongqing on the 5th.

Tian Hongwei, director of the Chess Department of the Chess and Card Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports and secretary-general of the Chinese Chess Association, said at the opening ceremony that in recent years, the game of Fuling has flourished, and various chess events at all levels have been held all year round. The first Li Chengzhi Cup National Junior Championship was held in Fuling. Through years of development, Fuling has made remarkable achievements in the cultivation of chess talents, and trained a large number of high-level chess players such as Tan Zhongyi, Lei Tingjie, Liu Yan and so on.

The twelve teams participating in this competition include the top 10 of the 2022 China Chess League and the top two of the 2022 Second Division, namely Chongqing Sports Lottery Team, Bank of Hangzhou Team, China Mobile Shanghai Team, Shenzhen Pengcheng Team, Beijing Team, Jiangsu Team, Zhejiang Shaoxing Yuecheng Team, Chongqing Jiulongpo Yucai Team, Chengdu Beilei Club Team, Shandong Foreign Chinese Vocational and Technical University Team, Tianjin Spark Thinking Team, and Hangzhou Yi Team.

The 2023 Chinese Chess League kicks off

Each team played three male and two female players, and the tournament was played in a large round-robin system, with a total of 11 rounds, with one day off every four rounds, namely June 9 and 14. All competitions end on June 17.
