On May 28, the "National Highway Journey from Snowy Mountains to the Sea" reporting group saw a "Stonehenge" that stretched for several kilometers on the side of the road in Tashigang Township, Aligar County, Tibet: thousands of stones were placed in one square after another, extending into the distance. Some of these stones are larger than a basketball and the size of a small fist. Who placed this "Stonehenge"? What is the purpose of the placement?
Sonam Tsering, deputy mayor of Tashigang Township, told reporters that this "Stonehenge" was completed by all the villagers and cadres in Tashigang Township together and worked for three consecutive years starting in 2017, with the purpose of preventing wind and fixing sand and protecting the winter pastures in Tashigang Township from being attacked or even buried by wind and sand.
"Stonehenge" shows the wisdom of the local people and the courage and spirit of the people to conquer the heavens.
