Thai durian has long occupied 90% of the Chinese market at a high price, with sales of up to 20 billion yuan. Almost half of the local durian growers are fed, and the price of durian, mainly in Thailand, is the starting price of durian importers, and the price of durian is increasing year by year. Today, the durian fruit trees developed by Mainland that adapt to the local natural environment have successfully borne fruit.
According to data released by the national statistics department, the local durian fruit trees cultivated in the mainland can reach 41,000 tons, which is the same as Vietnam's durian imports.

The reason for the drop in durian prices

Therefore, in order to get rid of the situation that the durian market is controlled by people, the mainland began to cultivate and grow indigenous durians in subtropical provinces. You know, the cultivation of durian is extremely demanding on natural growth conditions, the temperature is higher than 10 degrees Celsius, and the annual precipitation reaches more than 1000 mm.
Not only that, durian needs to grow for at least 4-7 years to see the effect, and there can be no mistakes in between. After nearly a decade of long waiting and trial and error, about 40 indigenous durian trees finally successfully bore fruit in 2019.
At present, Sanya has successfully planted 1,400 mu of native durian, with a survival rate of 98%. It is expected that in the future, the production capacity of local durians grown in Sanya on the mainland can be increased to 41,000 tons, which is the same as the total output of Thailand and Vietnam.
