At about 16:00 on October 19, the Xiqiao police station received an alarm from the Taiping Community Hospital in the jurisdiction that a bird suspected of an owl flew into the hospital staff dormitory and requested the police to be present for disposal. After receiving the report, Zhang Peicai, a police officer of the Taiping Community Police Squadron, and Zhu Ji, an auxiliary police officer, immediately rushed to the scene and found that it was the owl, a national second-level protected animal, that had been temporarily placed in a cage by the hospital security guards.

It was understood that the nurse told the police that they were resting in the dormitory, when suddenly a small owl flew in through the window, and everyone was startled. After observation, the nurses found that the little owl seemed to be unstable, and when they saw someone approaching, they only flew low to avoid, guessing that the owl was injured. The little owl who was "sick and rushed to the hospital" flew into the community hospital, but the nurses were helpless, in order to avoid the little owl from crashing around and seriously injuring, they had to call the police to notify the public security police to come to assist.

Subsequently, the police officer Zhang Peicai carefully transferred the little owl to the carton, took it back to the squadron for temporary care, and contacted the Xiqiao Town Forest Fire Office to assist in the processing. At about 18:00 that night, the staff of the Forest Fire Office of Xiqiao Town came to the Taiping Squadron, and after careful inspection, it was confirmed that the little owl had no obvious wounds on its body except for a slight injury to its left leg, which caused it to stand unsteadily; but because of its young age and frightened, it was temporarily unsuitable for stocking, so the staff took the little owl back to care, and then released it back to nature after its injuries healed.

The police remind that if a single, injured or wild animal in need of rescue is found, it must not be rescued privately, in captivity or blindly released, and should be reported to the police or contacted by the relevant departments in time.
