Leopard-striped zeal, also known as leopard-striped hook-kissed catfish, is one of the suborder Troutidae of the ray-finned fish family Eels.
It is found in the Indo-Pacific region, including Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, Christmas Island, India, Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Cook Islands, Hawaiian Islands, Johnston Island, Kiribati, Midway Island, Samoa, French Polynesia and other water depths of 8 to 60 meters.
The fish has a snake-like body, a large mouth with sharp teeth, a thick and smooth skin without scales, and can secrete mucus.

Leopard-print eels are fierce in temperament, often hiding in coral reef caves or rock crevices, the tail cloth is curled up in the cave to expose only the head, the sense of smell is sensitive but the vision is poor, territorial, swimming power is not strong. It is carnivorous and feeds on small fish.
