Highlights of the itinerary
Highlight 1: Really cross the Great Rift Valley and go to the other side to see the animals!
The formation of the Great Rift Valley not only created a magnificent landscape of volcanoes and lakes, but also gradually isolated the animals on both sides that originally belonged to the same family. After a long period of independent evolution, many of the former "family" have diverged into two species.
The usual route and locations are west of the East Branch of the Great Rift Valley, and the wildlife seen is the most common in Animal World – common zebras, Marseille giraffes and common ostriches, while our first stop on the trip, Sambru, east of the East Branch of the Great Rift Valley, is home to fine-striped zebras, reticulated giraffes and Somali ostriches. Only by seeing the differences in species on both sides can we really go to the Great Rift Valley.
Looking at the following two sets of comparison charts, is the difference obvious?
On the left is the reticulated giraffe and on the right is the Marseille giraffe.
On the left are fine-striped zebras and on the right are ordinary zebras.
Highlight 2: A luxurious hotel throughout the whole process, and the animal watching experience is a great experience!
In this trip, we have selected the best hotels in the local area. For example, at fairmont, one of the world's top 50 hotels, you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset next to Mount Kenya, Africa's second highest peak.
Or wait for the most magnificent paradise ferry in the Maasai Mara at the hotel closest to the Mara River (although July and August are the best season, but if you are lucky, you can see it on The Eleventh).
Or simply stand in the hotel's yard and observe the wildlife resting in front of your doorstep.
Highlight 3: Professor Liu Huajie, an advocate of the revival of naturalism, joined in
Professor Liu Huajie is a professor in the Department of Philosophy of Peking University and a doctoral supervisor. He has presided over the major project of the National Social Science Foundation of China" "Research on the Relationship between Western Naturalistic Culture and Public Ecological Consciousness". He has won the Silver Signature Award for Wu Dayu's Popular Science Masterpieces in Taiwan, the Fok Ying Tung Award, the Wenjin Book Award, the Dapeng Natural Good Book Award, the China Excellent Publication Award, and the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education.
At the beginning of the founding of "Museum", Professor Liu Huajie wrote articles for our journal. This time, Professor Liu will take the fans of "Museum" deep into the East African plateau, walk into the paradise of this wild animal, return to the place of human origin, and explore the naturalistic world there.
Highlight 4: Multiple people sign up to enjoy high discounts
The Kenyan activity of this museum trip is the longest time in Kenya in history - a total of 12 days and 9 nights, all come, it must make you worth the trip; it is also the most visited places - 5 locations, one time to take you to experience 5 different habitats; it is the largest amount of preferential treatment, a family of three people travel (including a child), 3 people can enjoy a high discount of up to 10,000 yuan (see the cost description).
Itinerary
Day1 September 26
From their respective cities, they traveled to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
Day2 September 27
Nairobi-Samblu
Arrive in Nairobi early in the morning and drive to Samblu, where you will take a lunch break at Safari inside the Samburu National Monument. Samburu is located on the eastern side of the Eastern Branch of the Great Rift Valley, where many species are not found on the Western Side. The five major animals here are extremely rare to see elsewhere, including the fine-striped zebra, the East African right-horned giraffe, the Somali ostrich, the reticulated giraffe and the giraffe.
Hotel: Samburu Simba Lodge (or similar)
The one who is struggling to eat the leaves is the giraffe
Day3 September 28
Samburu explores all day
Throughout the day safari, look for the five major animals that have not yet appeared, as well as birds such as the vulture beaded chicken, the black-faced bustard and the Somali walking plover that are rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya. Compared to other locations on the itinerary, Samburu has the lowest elevation and is also the hottest. As a result, there is a large number of sparse shrublands growing here, and we will observe how the giraffe, the East African right-horned hornbeest, and a variety of hornbills and other animals adapt to the arid environment.
The Samburu region is such an arid shrubland landscape
Day4 September 29
Samburu- Mount Kenya
After breakfast, depart for Mount Kenya, arrive at your hotel for lunch at noon and visit inside the animal rescue station in the afternoon. Mount Kenya is the highest peak in Kenya, and your hotel is also one of the top 50 in the world and the most luxurious in central Kenya. The on-site animal rescue station rescues and raises some animals that are rare in the wild.
Hotel: Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club (or similar)
Kenyan forest antelope may seem ordinary, but the population does not exceed 200, and more individuals are bred in the rescue station than in the wild, and they will eventually be released into the mountain forest.
At the rescue center, you can also donate money for wildlife and leave your name.
Day5 September 30
Mount Kenya - Nakuru
After breakfast depart for Nakuru. After lunch, in Safari, nakuru National Park, observe the lakeside red storks and other water birds that move here, look for southern white rhinos foraging on the lakeside lawn, lions climbing trees, and leopards hiding in the forest.
Hotel: Lake Nakuru Lodge (or similar)
You can also quietly observe more than 30 kinds of water birds such as little flamingos, great flamingos, herons, great egrets, and black-winged long-legged sandpipers by the lake.
Day6 October 1
Nakuru - Masai Mara
After breakfast depart for the Masai Mara. After lunch, in Safari, inside the Masai Mara National Reserve, look for the Big Five— African lions, African prairie elephants, African buffaloes, leopards and black rhinos, among other wildlife.
Hotel: Mara Serena Safari Lodge
Does the lion resting on the grass look quite "docile"? Then you can swipe the picture to see its powerful work.
Day7 October 2
The Masai Mara is explored throughout the day
The most important thing to do today is to stay by the river and wait for the wildebeest to cross the river. The peak of wildebeest migration is generally in July and August, but the rear troops will also cross the river on the eleventh. On November last year, the members of the museum tour witnessed the spectacular scene of horses crossing the river.
The migrating rear troops will also cross the river at the eleventh, and if you are lucky, you will see it.
Day8 October 3
We will also continue to wait for the stage of paradise ferry on the Mara River. At a break on the banks of the Mara River, you get off the bus to observe hippos and Nile crocodiles "ambushed" in the water. We will also continue to search for the most hidden and difficult leopards and black rhinos among the Five African Powers.
Day9 October 4
Masai Mara-Navasha
Depart for Navassa after breakfast, and after lunch, paddle on Lake Navasha to observe hippos up close, looking for dozens of species of water birds such as white pelicans, especially the moment when African sea eagles fish.
Hotel: Naivasha Sopa (or similar)
Day10 October 5
Navasha Nairobi
Take a drive to Nairobi in the morning to visit city attractions such as the Giraffe Center. At the Giraffe Center, you can interact with giraffes up close. In the evening, enjoy a barbecue feast on site and watch a cabaret show with African specialties
Hotel: Safari Park Hotel
Day11 October 6
