Hazard characteristics: Larvae spit silk conjugated leaves into buds, lurking in them as pests. The leaves are incomplete after eating, and in severe cases, only the midrib of the leaves remains.
Prevention and control methods:
(1) In winter and spring, remove the residue of weeds on the edge of the field, ditch and pond in time. Taking advantage of the inactive characteristics of the larvae, artificial bud collection is carried out to exterminate the larvae. Plant honey source plants to concentrate on booby traps, protecting and using parasitic bees, hunting bugs and other natural enemy insects.
(2) Check the field blocks with about 10 insects per 100 bushes of rice plants, and spray control when the 2-year-old larvae account for about 50%, because the rice bracts eat or change the buds at night, so the application time is best after 4 p.m. During application, it is best to leave a shallow water layer in the field.
(3) The general control of borers and rice longitudinal leaf borers is also effective for this insect, so it can often be treated at the same time.
