"When the personal personnel saw Chiang Kai-shek coming out of the toilet with a hasty expression, they could speculate that Chiang Kai-shek's 'menstrual affairs' had come again." - "The Mystery of Chiang Kai-shek's Death" by Wang Feng
On April 9, 1962, when the President of Malagasi (now the Republic of Madagascar) visited Taiwan, the guards found Chiang Kai-shek in poor spirits and had a face all day long, which felt strange, because he had never seen Chiang Kai-shek like this before. It is also not known whether it was the President of Málagasi who made any excessive demands or whether the two sides had disagreed on what issues.
After President Malagasi left Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek took a day off. Later, everyone learned that Chiang Kai-shek was always unwell for a while. Chiang Kai-shek, a soldier, gritted his teeth and endured the pain for two weeks, and by April 23, he was so unable to urinate that he couldn't bear it, so he had to go to the hospital for a physical examination. (Here, I have to admire Lao Jiang's perseverance is really tenacious.) )
At Veterans General Hospital, Dr. Zheng Buffei, director of the Department of Urology, said after examination that it was an enlarged prostate and must be operated on as soon as possible.
However, who would operate on Chiang Kai-shek and what kind of surgery method would be adopted became a question.
In the early 60s of the 20th century, Dr. Zheng Bufei was the best urologist in Veterans General Hospital, with superb skills and rich experience, and was fully qualified for this operation.
However, there were two reasons why Zheng Bufei did not take on this task.
First, Chiang Kai-shek has a special status. Although prostate surgery was not a major operation at that time, and the technology was very mature, no doctor in the world dared to guarantee 100% success of the operation, coupled with Chiang Kai-shek's special status, Taiwanese doctors were afraid to operate on Chiang Kai-shek.
Second, Soong Meiling firmly believed that "foreign monks can chant the sutra", did not approve of allowing Chinese doctors to perform surgery, and advocated that authoritative foreign doctors should be hired.
In the end, Chiang Kai-shek "must not wait for the wind to be slow." So, the task eventually fell on a black military doctor from the Ryukyu base of the US military, who also had an identity - the proud protégé of the world's prostate authority Nesby.
The operation was performed on the most advanced endoscopic surgery method at that time, using a thick wire-like tubular endoscopic scalpel through the urethra to the prostate, and under the endoscope, the enlarged prostate tissue was removed. No scarring and less bleeding. As everyone knows, sometimes advanced is often synonymous with immaturity.
Because the surgical position is special, local anesthesia cannot be performed, and because this is a minor operation, general anesthesia is not suitable. So, ultimately, no anesthesia. In ancient times, the second master scraped the bones to cure poison, and now President Jiang does not anesthetize and cut the prostate.
After more than half an hour of operation, Chiang Kai-shek gritted his teeth in pain, his facial muscles twitched, and his hands tightly gripped the handle of the chair, but he did not say a word from beginning to end, not even saying a word of "pain". (Admire Lao Jiang's tenacity again.) )
Chiang Kai-shek endured severe pain for more than half an hour, but unfortunately, the operation did not meet expectations, and more than a month later, Chiang Kai-shek began to urinate heavily in blood.
There was no way, this time I had to invite the teacher of the black military doctor, Dr. Nesby, the world's prostate authority, to personally operate on Chiang Kai-shek. Or the surgical method of endoscopy - this is what Nesby is best at, and Chiang Kai-shek once again suffered the pain of Guan's second master's "scraping the bones to heal the wounds". It hurts to think about it, but the nerves are dense and the feeling is very sensitive. (The third time admired Chiang's perseverance.) )
After this operation, Chiang Kai-shek's hematuria improved, but he started a high fever, once burning to 40 °C, which frightened Song Meiling, and she couldn't think of a better way than praying to God.
Perhaps Soong Meiling's prayers worked, and a few days later, Chiang Kai-shek's illness was cured without medicine. Chiang Kai-shek was happy and wandered with Soong Meiling in the lake.
In the months that followed, the calm that had been before the illness returned. But in the spring of 1963, one morning, Chiang Kai-shek got up early to solve the problem, and he was so frightened that his face turned dirt - he solved blood and urine again!
Chiang Kai-shek suddenly felt that the whole person was not good, remembering the pain that penetrated into the bone marrow during the operation, and did not even go to work, and went directly to consult a doctor. The doctor couldn't help it, and he was relieved.
Therefore, since 1962, every year after the Lunar New Year, when the spring blossoms are in full bloom, Chiang Kai-shek will have hematuria symptoms. Seeing Chiang Kai-shek coming out of the toilet with a pastry look, the personal personnel could speculate that Chiang Kai-shek's "menstrual affairs" had come again.
Chiang Kai-shek saw the change in color of blood, and even a little overly nervous. Once, Chiang Kai-shek slowly walked out of the toilet, his face was stunned, he held a small bottle of urine in his hand, handed it to the adjutant, and said, "You take this bottle to a certain medical officer and ask him how many red blood cells are in this urine?" The adjutant carefully went to the medical officer's office and told the medical officer on duty, "Sir wants me to take this urine, let you see how many red blood cells are in it?" The medical officer on duty shook his head and said, "I just helped him test his urine yesterday, there is no blood reaction, you pour the urine into the toilet!" Obviously, even the "imperial doctor" felt that Chiang Kai-shek was too nervous.
"Once bitten by a snake, ten years afraid of the well rope". The two operations not only caused Chiang Kai-shek great pain physically, but also cast a huge shadow on Chiang Kai-shek psychologically.
However, the Jiang and Song families did not accept the lesson, and still firmly believed in foreign doctors, as usual, all the foreign must worship, and all the ocean must be good. It was precisely because of Chongyang's flattery that Chiang Kai-shek was later misdiagnosed and his life expectancy was reduced by 20 years.
To tell Chiang Kai-shek's anecdote, within three weeks after each operation, Chiang Kai-shek had some urinary incontinence due to the operation. The doctor gave him a urinary catheter and a small plastic urine bag. Usually at work, the urine bag is tied to the thigh, and there are no traces on the outside. When receiving guests or summoning officials, every hour the entourage would falsely say, "Report to the president, you have a transoceanic phone call and I want you to answer it." "It is implied that Chiang Kai-shek went to the toilet to dump the urine in the urine bag so that the urine bag would not overflow.
