English name: D'Urville's Birdwing

Description: Arthropod Phylum, Insecta, Lepidoptera, Butterfly family, Ornithopodae. Adults have a wingspan of 170 to 210 mm, females have a dark brown forebelly and a milky belly; the forewings are tan with milky white bands; and the hindwings are also tan with ovate markings and spots. The male has a black forearm and a golden yellow belly; a black middle of the forewings with dark blue stripes on the edges; and a black edge of the hindwings with dark blue in the middle with black spots. The host is a plant of the genus Aristolochia.

It is found in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands in Oceania.
