On April 7, the Municipal Forest Defense Station issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Prevention and Control of Forest Pests in 2021" (Garrison Forest Defense [2021] No. 7), requiring all counties and districts to make preparations for prevention and control in advance, do a good job in drug reserves, repair and maintenance of prevention and control equipment, and complete the bidding for flight prevention. On June 25, the Municipal Forest Defense Station organized relevant experts in the prevention and control of forest pests in various counties and districts to hold a meeting on the occurrence trend of major forest harmful organisms in the second half of 2021, to study and judge the occurrence trend of the American white moth, poplar leaf-eating pest, and yellow two star boat moth, and deploy the next step of prevention and control work. The municipal forest defense station has purchased 2 tons of pesticides for ground prevention and control, and various counties and districts have also actively purchased pesticides for ground prevention and control. At present, the prevention and control work of the whole city is underway.

It is understood that Xiping County completed flight prevention from May 28 to 30, the prevention and control objects are poplar leaf-eating pests and the 1st generation of American white moths, a total of 27 flight prevention sorties, an area of 48,600 acres, flight prevention drugs are 25% of the extermination of juvenile urea, the control effect is good, the next step will be to determine whether to carry out secondary flight prevention according to the degree of development of insects. Suiping, Xiping and Pingyu counties have completed ground prevention and control for key road sections and key areas.

Up to now, most of the counties and districts in our city have completed the bidding for flight defense or plan to take emergency procedures to carry out flight defense, which will be implemented in mid-July. Zhengyang County, Runan County and Pingyu County have completed the bidding, the object of flight defense is poplar leaf-eating pests and American white moths, of which Zhengyang County plans to fly 120,000 mu, which is planned to be completed before August 30, the specific time is decided according to the results of the insect investigation; Runan County plans to fly 150,000 mu, implemented on July 15; Pingyu County plans to fly 200,000 mu, depending on the weather conditions after mid-July. Shangcai County, Biyang County and Suiping County plan to conduct competitive negotiations or follow emergency procedures. Shangcai County plans to fly a total of 284,000 mu, according to the occurrence of insect conditions, it is planned to fly defense twice in mid-July and early September, each time 142,000 mu; Biyang plans to fly 50,000 mu, in mid-to-late July according to the development of insect conditions to carry out emergency flight prevention, or in August and September to prevent the third generation of American white moths; Suiping County plans to take emergency procedures to fly 60,000 mu, and implement it in mid-to-late July depending on the development of insect conditions.

In the next step, the Municipal Forestry Bureau and the Municipal Forest Defense Station will increase their efforts to supervise and coordinate the implementation of the fly defense bidding work as soon as possible, and strive to implement the relevant matters of flight defense before the end of July to ensure that this year's prevention and control work is not affected.
