The introduction of foreign pig breeds has a greater impact on the production of pigs in China, including York pigs, long white pigs, Duroc pigs, Hampshire pigs and so on. These pig breeds have been purely bred and domesticated in China and have become an integral part of China's pig breed resources. Due to the rapid growth of these pig breeds and the high rate of carcass lean meat, it will play a greater role in the production of hybrid lean pigs in China.
(1) Long white pig: The long white pig grows fast, has good reproductive performance, and is an excellent parent for the production of commercial lean pigs. The whole body of the long white pig is covered with white hair, the head and neck are light, the ears are leaning forward, the body is long, the back is slightly arched or straight, the hip muscles are full, and the limbs are thicker. Sows produce 8 to 11 litters and 9 to 12 litters.
(2) York pig: York pig grows fast, feed utilization is good, carcass lean meat rate is high, reproductive performance is good and adaptable, is an excellent parent for the production of commercial lean pigs. York pigs are covered with white hairs, a straight or slightly concave nose, erect ears, a micro-arch on the back and waist, a large body, a well-developed posterior body, and strong limbs. The number of sows produced 8 to 11 litters at the beginning and 11 to 13 after birth.
(3) Duroc pig: Duroc pig is covered with brownish red or brown hair, the head is slightly larger, the face is slightly concave, the ears are medium-sized and forward-leaning, the back and waist are long and arched, the abdominal line is straight, the limbs are thick, the hooves are strong, the legs and hips are muscular, the sex is tame, the anti-stress is high, the carcass lean meat rate is high, and it is an excellent terminal father for the production of commercial lean pigs.
(4) Hampshire pig: the head and middle and hindquarters are coated with black hair, the shoulders and forelimbs are surrounded by a white belt, the head size is moderate, the ears are upright, the mouth is straight and long, the body is slightly longer than the Duroc pig, the back is broad and slightly bowed, the physique is strong, the structure is compact, and the sow gives birth to about 10 litters.
(5) Baksha pig: most of the body coat is black with "six white" features, that is, the nasal end, the lower part of the limbs and the tail are slightly white. The head is short and concave, the mouth is slightly upturned, the ears are small and forward-leaning, the back is wide and straight, the ribs are open, the limbs are thick, the physique is strong, and the temperament is gentle. 7 to 8 litters are delivered.
(6) Kemilov pig: the whole body is basically black, in addition to having the characteristics of "six whites", there are white flowers distributed along the body. The head is of moderate size, the face is slightly concave, the mouth is slightly upwards, the ears are slightly forward- and the back is wide and straight, the hips are plump, and the limbs are upright. 10 to 11 litters were born.
(7) Su white pig: the whole body is covered with white hair, the head is large, the mouth is medium-long, the face is slightly concave, the body is wide and deep, the hips are wide and flat, the thighs are plump, the limbs are strong, the physique is strong, and the adaptability is strong. 11 to 12 litters are given.
