Sha Meng, born on November 2, 1907 in Yutian, Hebei Province, graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. In the 1930s, he starred in and participated in films such as "CityScape", "Midnight Song", and "Cross Street".
In 1948, Salmon entered the Northeast Film Studio as a director. His short life is not much, only directed 5 films, namely "Zhao Yiman", "Shangrao Concentration Camp", "Harvest", "Shangganling", "Fenshui Long Stream", etc., but he left a deep page in the history of Chinese cinema.
In particular, "Shangganling" is a classic masterpiece of Shamen.
At the end of 1953, when Sha Meng, as the director of the Northeast Film Studio, went to Beijing for a meeting, he met Lin Shan, an old friend and secretary general of the Art Committee of the Central Film Bureau, who had just returned to China with the third batch of condolence delegations from the motherland.
One night, Lin Shan introduced Sha Meng to the fierce Battle of Shangganling on the Korean battlefield, and after Sha Meng listened, he jumped up from his chair, grabbed Lin Shan's hand tightly, and shouted excitedly: "What a terrifying ghost god!" He told Lin Shan that we must bring Shangganling to the screen!
Back at the East Film Studio, Salmon reported to the leader, who was very supportive of his idea. So he and Lin Shan went to North Korea and engaged in nearly 200 days of "war life", and later, the two of them mainly completed the film's literary script.
After the film was made, Salmon felt that there should be an interlude that was perfect. So, he found Qiao Yu, who had written a highly popular song such as "Let's Swing the Oars", and asked him to do the lyrics of the song. Salmon's request is that in the future, no one will watch the film, but the song will still be sung.

However, in the situation of 1957, Salmon was wrongly classified as a "rightist". In 1960, he was transferred to Beijing Film Studio.
Sha Meng's wife is the famous performance artist and educator Ouyang Ruqiu, who was born in October 1918 in Xiao County, Anhui Province.
Ouyang Ruqiu is known as a "mother professional household", for example, she played Lv Da Niang in "Zhao Yiman", Zhou Da Niang in "When the Grapes Are Ripe", Tao Ye Ma in "The Great Carpenter", Zhou Da Niang in "Entrepreneurship", Chen Sister-in-law in "Sakura", Old Lady in "Bashan Night Rain", Orchid Mother in "Laughter in Moon Bay", and Li Da Niang in "Heaven and Earth People's Hearts". On June 26, 1964, the famous director Shamen died in Beijing due to illness at the age of 57. His wife, Ouyang Ruqiu, died on December 27, 2007, at the age of 89.
