On July 23, some media exposed that Zhou Hong, president of Roche Pharmaceutical China, was about to leave.

Roche confirmed the news to the Health Bureau, and said: Zhou Hong's departure is a personal reason, the last working day is September 30, for Zhou Hong's next step, "the company is not clear."

According to information obtained by the Health Bureau, at 4 p.m. on July 23, Roche issued an internal announcement: Zhou Hong will leave the company after September 30, 2021 to seek external development opportunities. Effective October 1, 2021, Xin Bian, current Vice President of Market Access, will take over as President of Roche China.

Zhou Hong joined Roche in March 2015 as General Manager of Roche China. According to the above-mentioned roche internal announcement, after six years of employment, roche pharmaceuticals in China have doubled their performance to 3 billion Swiss francs (about 21.085 billion yuan).

On July 22, 2021, Roche announced its results for the first half of 2021. The company's global pharmaceutical business generated CHF 21.7 billion, down 3% year-on-year, while Zhou Hong's China segment bucked the trend and generated CHF 1.669 billion, up 3% year-on-year.

Zhou Hong's successor, Bian Xin, joined Roche Pharma in April 2019 and is now Vice President of Market Access for Roche Pharma China. Prior to joining Roche, Bian Xin was Chief Commercial Officer of BeiGene and Vice President of Xi'an Janssen.
