"Living Biological Evolution Exhibition Hall Coron Islands East Loop Cruise" eight-day trip 3️⃣ day

Itinerary: Santiago Island, Bahía Sullivan, Chinese Hat (Sombrero Chino)

Start your day with a workout or meditation on the sun deck, and after breakfast, head to Sullivan Bay in southeast of San Diego Island for an immersive geological class to explore the nearest Pahoehoe lava flow. "Pahoehoe" comes from the Polynesian word meaning "easy to walk," and this type of lava is only common in volcanoes in the Galapagos Islands and Hawaii, which share the same volcanic origin and are rare elsewhere in the world. Lava flows throughout the area formed in the last 25 years of the 19th century, and the path of lava flows and various igneous structures formed by different flow velocities, formation temperatures and pressures, as well as small ovens (Hornitos) formed when bubbles escaped from hot lava to form mini-volcanoes. Explore the lava flow and get the chance to spot playful sea lions on two small coral beaches.

After returning to the yacht for lunch and listening to the science lessons of naturalist experts, we set off again for Sombrero Chino Island, also known as Guanhat Island, one of the very small but famous islands in the Galapagos Islands. The name of the island is easy to understand, this small island is a volcanic crater, shaped like an old-fashioned Chinese hat, a so-called "splash cone" formed by lava from volcanic eruptions, which is essentially a mountain made of lava and rock from volcanic eruptions. Over time, the mountain eroded and gradually turned into a gently sloping cone. Surrounded by crystal clear waters and the opportunity to observe sea lions and penguins from above, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling, the island is a great snorkeling spot, protected by the immediate aftertown of San Diego, where the sea is calm but deep enough to attract some spectacular marine life such as the White-Tipped Reef Sharks, and lucky snorkelers may even see rare Galapagos penguins! Return to the yacht for an evening sunset drink and dinner (to be continued).
