The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 26 issued a judgment on the 19th, sentencing 38-year-old South Korean movie star Choi Min-so to be detained for 8 months and suspended for 2 years. In addition, the judge also asked Cai Minrui to receive 40 hours of safe driving lessons and 120 hours of public welfare services.
At about 6 a.m. on March 26 this year, Choi Min-seo was driving drunk when he collided with another vehicle while driving backwards down a one-way street in Seoul's Gangnam district. Cai crashed into the rear of a car that was parked, causing its owner to be hospitalized for two weeks.
30 minutes before the retrograde, Cai also drove about 1 kilometer drunk. At the time, her blood alcohol content reached 0.063% of the way her driver's license could be revoked.
From 2012 to 2015, Cai was dealt with by the traffic police department three times for drunk driving. But at that time, they were all fined.
The judge said cai did not get forgiveness from the victim. However, in view of Cai's deep introspection and the fact that there were no major casualties in the accident, he was sentenced to a suspended sentence.
After the first-instance judgment was issued, both the police and The Korean society believed that the judge had sentenced Cai too lightly. Police have protested.
In the face of accusations from the media and society, Cai mou posted an apology letter on his social media on the 20th, saying that he had a drink with friends the night before and slept at less than 9 o'clock that night. At about 5 a.m. the next day, I thought that the wine I drank the first night would not have any effect, so I drove out. But anyway, I apologize.
