At this year's Chengdu Auto Show, Zero Run launched two brand new models, the T03 Luxury Pro Version and the Micro Sugar Edition, of which the Zero Run T03 Luxury Pro Version was priced at 76,800 yuan and the Zero Run T03 Micro Sugar Edition was 62,800 yuan. In an interview with The Emperor of Understanding Cars, Zhou Ying said that even car users have requirements and needs for intelligence, in fact, what he wants to buy is not only an entry-level travel tool, but also a demand for intelligence and quality.

In anticipation of the future market performance of these two models, Zhou Ying said that the order for T03 in July has exceeded 6,000 units, of which the proportion of C-end users in terminal delivery is very high, reaching more than 90%. By the end of this year, T03 sales will continue to climb the slope. Overall, these two new models can add 1,000 orders per month in the next month.

Talking about Tesla's results on the algorithm released on the "AI Day", Zhou Ying said that Tesla has always been the benchmark in the industry, and we have also proposed before that we hope to surpass Tesla in the field of autonomous driving algorithms within 3 years. The reason for this view is that we believe that at the level of intelligent driving application scenarios, there will be richer application scenarios in China than abroad.

For the channel level, Zhou Ying said that in fact, the zero-run channel model is relatively economical, our partner operating pressure will not be so large, the form of cooperation or encourage everyone to open a store on the core business circle, but there will be no too high requirements for the storefront, enough to use it. The savings on fixed investment to reduce the risk of dealers operating, so that they can use a relatively small capital investment, have a relatively high turnover rate, and can quickly achieve profitability, which is our overall channel model.

Some people say that "miniaturization + intelligence" will be another part of the development trend of new energy vehicles in the future, how do zero-run cars look at it?

Zhou Ying: In fact, when T03 was just listed last year, the entire intelligent car piece, on the whole, lacked relatively high-quality products on the market. In the early stage, when everyone talked about mini cars or cars, they felt that it was a relatively low-end product.

Why was a car like the T03 developed at the time? We feel that for users, there is a demand for consumption upgrades, even if he buys a car for 60,000 or 70,000 yuan, in fact, what he wants to buy is not just an entry-level travel tool, but also has intelligent needs, there are also quality needs, rather than simply saying that I have a car that can drive.

So the T03 car gave a lot of intelligent things in the product definition at the beginning, and last year's version of the 75800 was equipped with L2-level driving assistance. This year, through the upgrade of OTA and so on, including ACC, LKA, the frequency of use of functions is very high.

We see that even the users of the car have requirements and needs for intelligence, in fact, the car users not only have the demand for intelligence, but also have more needs. So I made a blessing on the T03, and released two brand new models of the T03 luxury Pro version and the micro-sugar version at today's auto show.

Understanding Chedi: What is the expectation of zero-run for the future market performance of these two models?

Zhou Ying: The order of T03 in July has exceeded 6,000 units, and the very important real terminal delivery is very high for C-end users. The delivery volume of C-end users reached more than 90% throughout July. Based on this situation, from August to December, the sales of the entire T03 will still be in the process of climbing, because of the addition of these two new models. Overall, these two new models can add 1,000 orders in the next month.

Understanding Chedi: Zero running is the use of direct operation + partner model, how do you think of the direct operation model and authorization model? Are the two conflicting or complementary? Who is better? What is the current channel layout of Zero Run?

Zhou Ying: Self-research has always been zero running and very insistent, so since the company was founded in 2015, it has been continuing to exert efforts. Through 6 years of development, now we have a very good systematic ability to include intelligent driving, including in the intelligent cockpit, including in the three-electric system. On the whole, there are about 1,000 patents applied for, and the proportion of invention patents accounts for more than 50%, and the technical content is relatively high.

On the whole, like we also did intelligent driving chips last year, etc., and then we may focus on the construction of our intelligent driving algorithm team, in fact, we have already mentioned it when the company's 2.0 strategy was released in July this year. Our goal is to surpass our international leading companies in the field of intelligent driving as much as possible, so we will increase our investment in intelligent driving algorithms.

Since the beginning of this year, we have also built our own algorithm team, and at present, the efficiency of our entire algorithm team should be said to be very high. From the beginning of construction in January this year to the first half of the year, including participating in international professional competitions. In fact, we have just gotten the second place from the algorithm, it can be said that the technical strength of our core technical team is still very solid, including in our intelligent cockpit and so on will begin to increase investment.

Understanding Chedi: What do you think of Tesla's results on the algorithm released on "AI Day"?

Zhou Ying: Tesla has always been the benchmark in the industry, and has always been in the front of the enterprise, and many peers are doing a lot of technology development based on it. I think that intelligent driving or the future of new energy vehicles in the industry should be all enterprises to participate in and build together.

We have also proposed before that we hope to surpass Tesla in the field of autonomous driving algorithms within 3 years. In fact, the reason why we put forward a similar view is that we believe that at the level of intelligent driving application scenarios, there should be richer application scenarios in China than abroad. At the same time, we are still relatively relaxed in the entire development environment.

And in fact, China's R & D team in the R & D efficiency, not necessarily worse than foreign teams, this is actually very typical is zero running. So far, we don't have a foreign R&D staff in the R&D staff, but we have a very high R&D efficiency. Including electric drive, smart cockpit, the efficiency is very high, and the products made are also in line with China's needs.

Understand Chedi: At the beginning of August, Zero Run announced the completion of 4.5 billion yuan of financing, this year completed more than 8.8 billion yuan of financing, we have such a strong cash reserves and cooperation capabilities, in what areas will we continue to exert efforts in the future?

Ying Zhou: A few core parts. First, in the field of technology research and development. Zero Run has always insisted on making great investment in technology research and development. Including the need to make greater breakthroughs in the field of algorithms in the future, these are all very large investments, including infrastructure and so on. So, just talking about a part of the financing will probably be mostly focused on technology development.

In addition, there will be a piece of product expansion, because this year just got the production qualification of new energy vehicles, the current existing factory is in Jinhua, and the overall production capacity of Jinhua is about 150,000. According to our target sales planning, including the latter factory is not enough, so now we are doing the layout of the new factory, this piece is also an investment.

In addition, more on the marketing side, we also understand that because zero running has always been very economical in marketing investment, our investment is less than one-tenth of our competitors. Our general direction of thinking will still maintain a relatively economical, relatively efficient input method. At the same time, in the necessary areas, some new inputs need to be made. Next, we will increase the layout of terminal channels and so on, and now the overall number of stores that have been put into use in the country is about 150. Based on these 150 or so stores, we may have to open 200 this year, because our user demand is getting bigger and bigger, including the layout of outlets in key cities. At the same time, it also includes service centers in key cities, etc., and the construction of delivery centers and so on will also be increased in the marketing part.

Understanding Car Emperor: For the channel layout, will the zero-run car be a new innovation next?

Zhou Ying: In fact, the zero-run channel model is relatively economical, including the cooperation form in which the operating pressure of our partners will not be so great or encourage everyone to open a store in the core business circle, but there will be no too high requirements for the store, generally about 100 square meters, enough to use it. The savings on fixed investment to reduce the risk of dealers operating, so that they can use a relatively small capital investment, have a relatively high turnover rate, and can quickly achieve profitability, which is our overall channel model. Through the win-win and virtuous circle model with dealers, in fact, we can better help us to do channel development and construction.
