The province's 34 artificial rain-increasing operation teams were stationed in Shantou Liangying Autumn Wind Reservoir, Chaozhou Phoenix Reservoir and other operating points, began the preparations before artificial rain, inspected and installed artillery shells, debugged machinery and equipment...

"Artificial rain is not a simple process, it depends on whether the heavens cooperate." You Jiping, the relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Artificial Influence Weather Center, introduced that first of all, it is necessary to see whether there are cumulonimbus clouds in the sky that have reached the right height and thickness, and at the same time, the wind direction should be appropriate; there are also requirements for the selection of operating points, which cannot be operated over the city and densely populated areas, and factors such as rainfall landing points should be taken into account; before launching rockets, it is also necessary to obtain the consent of the air traffic control department.

In order to keep the time and place favorable, the operators started the "waiting for clouds" mode for four consecutive days and four nights. The thin clouds dispersed, the sparse light rain suddenly stopped, and finally the time was ripe, and a cannonball shot straight into the sky to get water.

"This long-lost timely rain has effectively alleviated the drought in eastern Guangdong." According to the relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Meteorological Bureau, since noon on the 28th, most cities and counties in eastern Guangdong have experienced small to moderate rain, of which chaozhou has localized heavy rain.

According to meteorological and hydrological monitoring, from 12:00 on the 28th to 12:00 on the 29th, the average rainfall in the province was 8.9 mm, 78 towns in eastern Guangdong recorded 10 mm to 25 mm of moderate rain, 20 town streets recorded heavy rain of 25 mm to 50 mm, and Fenghuang Town, Chao'an District, Chaozhou recorded 52.6 mm of heavy rain.
