Calligraphy and painting are of the same origin, books are heart paintings, and paintings are also books. The humble simplicity of Wei Bei's "Cuan Baozi" turned into a strange stone; the dragon snake of Tang Monk Huaisu's "Self-Narration" degenerated into a round and continuous nepotism.
Moreover, ink painting uses the principle of Taiji yin and yang symbiosis, and has more borrowings of "counting black when white" and "knowing black and keeping white"; with the intervention of water, "ink is divided into five colors", adding countless permutations and combinations between scorch, thick, heavy, light and light.
"Painting first on pen and ink", pen and ink can be called the essence of Chinese painting, pen and ink have a relationship between bones and flesh. "The ink in the pen is clever, and the author can use it in the ink." Ink takes the pen as the bone, and the pen takes the ink as the elite. When the pen is thirsty, the ink is scorched and crumbs, and when the ink is haloed, the pen dissolves. There are also good sentences about pen and ink: "The pen stands in its shape, and the ink divides its yin and yang", "The ink is subject to the sky, and the thickness and dryness follow; the pen is manipulated by people, and the hook is baked and dyed.". Dripping rendering, ink as the weight; Xiao Shuo is energetic, with the pen as the victory.
The creation of pen and ink techniques comes entirely from "reading thousands of books and walking thousands of miles". In a small way, pen and ink is the "technique" of Chinese painting using dots, lines, blocks, and light and dark reality; in general, it reflects the temperament and learning of the painter, as well as the tacit understanding with nature, which is the "Tao".
Chinese painting is proud of its freehand, and painting is not called painting, drawing, and system, but is called "writing", which is a leap in the quality of Chinese literati painting.
The pen is extremely sparse, the meaning is extremely dense, there is no overflow pen, there is no brush, just right, it can be stopped, not too much, not too much, not too much, is the highest realm of freehand.
Qingteng Xu Wei has a saying: "If you don't seek resemblance and have more than enough, then you will give it a deep gain." Not limited to the form of the thing itself, not only to paint the "image" for the purpose, but to use the deep inner understanding of the feeling to paint, in order to be outside the image, "all things are precious to take pictures."
Painting emphasizes the state of mind, and Chinese painting is particularly important for ink painting. If the mind is still, then it can swing a little bit of dye and enter another world of flow. Therefore, as far as possible to create a sense of ritual situation: the window is clear and clean, Wenzhu Xiulan, burning incense to boil tea, and even the songs played in the speakers have been replaced by Kunqu opera, Yue opera, and Suzhou pingtan. In fact, outside of form, when one really attains the clarity and tranquility of meditation, the mind is led to a pure paradise. At least, the knots in the chest before were now gone.
The Bada Shanren once said: "After ascending frequently, you can be fearless." Daily homework, get rid of distractions, do not like things, do not grieve with oneself, do not serve as a form, do not disturb the world, and wield pen and ink, is it not happy.
