"Rolling The Barrel" is a traditional old drama in Henan. Also known as "White Jade Hairpin", "Cao Baoshan Zhongzhuangyuan", and "Chopping Zhang Cang", it is recorded that the late Qing Dynasty scholar Zhou Ren (1855-1928) made a living as a teacher after he fell in the first place, and in his spare time was adapted from the songbook "The Biography of the Three Sages". "Rolling Barrel" is famous throughout the country for its henan opera name ugly Sea Lianchi filmed into a movie. The Yu opera version is said to predate the era when opera was performed on stage. According to the late Mr. Tang Xiaobao, a fan of Henan opera, in the early 1950s, he saw the "RollIng Barrel" cooperated by Yu opera ugly Gao Xingwang (1917-1983) and Mingdan Chen Huiqiu at the Kaifeng Workers' Theater.
There is a main version of the "Rolling Seat" circulating on the Henan opera stage: First, the Yu opera version of Niu Decao, which has a video of the whole play (xiaobian posted this number in today's headlines two years ago). The second is the drama version of Hai Lianchi, plus a sequel to a total of three, and the Disciples of the Hai Sect have also remade this drama. There is also the version of the first generation of the drama, the ugly Wang Zhendong, with only a few tape versions of the audio data. Luoyang opera name ugly Li Tianfang and opera plum blossom award winner Fang Suzhen have a ten-episode serial drama "Roll Barrel" version (Xiaobian has posted a 10-episode full version in today's headlines) Li Tianfang adopted Wang Zhendong's singing method, and also absorbed the characteristics of Hai Lianchi teacher.
The two major Yu opera names are ugly Gao Xingwang (1917-1983) and Niu Decao (1933-1998) are both famous in Kaifeng. According to Mr. Sujun, the emperor of Yu opera Xiaosheng, in the early years, Niu Decao wanted to worship Gao Xingwang as a teacher, and Mr. Gao modestly said: "We both studied drama with Teacher Li Xiaoyao, and we did not dare to be a teacher." So Niu Decao changed his mouth from "master" to "master brother", and both of them acted in the Yu opera "RollIng Barrel".
Mr. Wang Sujun, who lives with Mr. Gao Xingwang and his family home in a group of henan Yu Theater, said: "After the Cultural Revolution, Teacher Gao thought of digging up the "Scrolls", and as a result, other people's operas preempted it. "This is the drama "RollIng Tube" starring Mr. Hai Lianchi, which has been made into a movie and is famous throughout the country.
Niu Decao, 16 years younger than Gao Xingwang, inherited and remade the Yu opera "Rolling Cylinder", which was inherited by his descendant Jin Buchang, and once performed at the Chang'an Grand Theater in Beijing, and CCTV has also broadcast it many times
"Little Cangwa I left Dengfeng Small County, and suffered from hunger along the way..." Now Mr. Hai Lianchi's "RollIng Tube" is the most popular, and it has been made into a movie for more than thirty years, and it is well known to everyone and the heat is not reduced. When people think of "Rolling The Mat", they think of Henan Opera; when they think of Xiao Cangwa, they think of Hailian Pond. It can be seen that "Rolling The Barrel" has become synonymous with the opera; Xiao Cangwa has also become an alias for Hai Lianchi.
Although it is also a classic of opera, Mr. Wang Zhendong's version of "Rolling Cylinder" seems to be very little known due to insufficient publicity. At the age of 11, Wang Zhendong mainly attacked Xiaosheng, later changed to a clown, and gradually gained a foothold in the drama world, growing into one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of Luoyang opera, and was quite famous in Henan, Xi'an, Lanzhou and other places. In his artistic career of more than half a century, Mr. Wang Zhendong has played major roles in nearly 100 plays. Its representative repertoire includes "Rolling Barrel", "Yan Jia Tan", "Straw Man Medium", "Cabinet Edge" and so on. He starred in Zhang Cang, with a beautiful singing voice, humorous and funny performances, and four Yang tunes that the audience applauded, and was praised by the audience as "live Zhangcang".
The person who played Cao Baoshan with Wang Zhendong in "Rolling The Barrel" is Mr. Zhu Liulai, another well-known opera master in Luoyang.
