The illegal building covering an area of 4500 square meters was demolished
"As the guardian of the public interest, the procuratorial organs focus on the field of ecological environmental protection, urge relevant departments to dismantle illegal buildings in a timely manner, and build a safety defense line for ecological environmental protection..." Recently, Li Hongshan, a deputy to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Congress, commented when he learned that binhe street in Haibo Bay District of Wuhai City, The Color Steel House in Longyou Bay National Wetland Park, and the random construction of tourist facilities at Taige Wharf were all demolished.
In September 2020, in order to strengthen the management protection and law enforcement supervision of rivers and lakes in Wuhai City, the Wuhai Municipal Procuratorate and the Wuhai City River Chief's Office jointly formulated the "2020 Wuhai City River and Lake Governance "Autumn" Action Plan", strengthening the coordination and cooperation between the river chief office, the river chief system responsible unit and the procuratorial organs, joint prevention and control, and forming a joint force for river and lake control.
At the end of October 2020, the inspection team formed by the Wuhai Municipal Procuratorate and the River Chief's Office found that the problems of Binhe Street in Haibo Bay District, LinjianCai Steel House in Longyou bay national wetland park, and illegal construction of tourist facilities at Taige Wharf have not been rectified. These three illegal buildings are within the scope of river protection, which poses a safety hazard to the river flood. The Wuhai Municipal Procuratorate then filed a case for review in accordance with the law and issued procuratorial suggestions to the relevant administrative organs, requesting rectification and demolition of illegal buildings within a time limit to eliminate the hidden dangers of river flooding.
After the procuratorial suggestions were delivered, the relevant administrative organs actively performed their duties, and joined hands with the Binhe Street Office, the Qianlishan Town Government and other relevant units to promptly demolish the 4,500 square meters of illegal buildings in the surrounding areas such as Binhe Street, Longyou Bay National Wetland Park, and Taige Wharf in Haibo Bay District.
It is understood that in recent years, the procuratorial organs at both levels in Wuhai City and the river and lake management departments have carried out joint inspections along the Yellow River and rivers on a regular basis, focusing on rectifying the prominent problems of "four chaos". In this action, a total of 13 cases were filed and reviewed, and the administrative department was urged to demolish and clean up 13 illegal buildings, so as to promote the river and lake chief system to "see practical results" and the public interest litigation of rivers and lakes to "see the curative effect".
