Gua Po is in the lower reaches of the Tuo River in Fenghuang County, Xiangxi, a place called Mujiangping.

The story of Gua Meng Po is a long time ago, and it was a local literary youth named Luo Xiujun who persistently grasped a little historical clue and opened this dusty past:
Legend has it that a long time ago, Shu Fugui, a big family in Phoenix Ji Xinduwu Kulituo, was a well-known good person and a great benevolent person in a hundred miles around, and Shu Younu married into the Mujiangping newspaper Muzhai Han family, and the husband and wife loved each other like guests. However, after several years of marriage, the two did not have children, but unexpectedly her husband died unexpectedly, and the woman was so grief-stricken that she buried her husband halfway up the mountain in Guampo on the way back to her mother's house.
The slope of Gua Po is about 600 meters, named because the whole slope resembles Gua Mu, which is the only way for Mayang people and Mujiangping people to go to Jixin and Pushi to do business.
This woman surnamed Shu was infatuated, she built a shed next to Guampo Road, and went there every day to pave the road, she dug the roadbed, knocked stones, carried stones, paved roads, rain or shine all year round. Her deeds touched the surrounding people, and many people came to build roads together... After the completion of this stone road from Mujiangping Baomuzhai to Duwu Kuli Pass, this infatuation felt that his wish had been fulfilled, and coupled with overwork and longing, he died soon after.
There is a flat land at the top of the slope of Guamangpo, and there are many ancient trees within a few meters: the largest is a nut tree, the main trunk has dried up, and the roots of the tree are still alive; One newspaper tree, seven or eight axe trees, more than ten chiseled plum trees. These trees must have been planted by predecessors, and this place is a slope top, a fork in the road, and an excellent pavilion place.
There is a grave on the side of the road near the foot of the slope, and Xiujun also verified that the woman died after giving birth, and forty years later, her daughter grew up, remembered her mother's nurturing kindness, and erected a monument and circled the grave for her mother.
Luo Xiujun said that the name of this slope is now called "widowbelly slope", and it is said that the local government has given a common name to women who cannot have children: "widow". I kind of didn't want to believe it.
"There should be a road monument!" I don't know how many times I ran, Luo Xiujun rummaged through all the big stones on the side of the road, but I couldn't find it. I suspect that it may have been removed along with the stones on the gazebo for resting.
