In recent years, I have been to North Korea many times and have come into contact with many North Korean tour guides. Tour guides are a popular profession in North Korea, and many female college students in North Korea hope to become tour guides after graduation. The tour guide salary is good. The benefits are also good. There are both female and male tour guides in North Korea, but there are more female guides than male tour guides. North Korean female tour guides have a common characteristic, that is, they are very beautiful. North Korea is a country rich in beautiful women, and it is not unusual for the tour guides to be beautiful.
In North Korea, being beautiful does not necessarily make you a tour guide. To become a tour guide, you must know Chinese or English. Moreover, it is required to have a lively and cheerful personality and be good at communication. More importantly, it is smart and can skillfully respond to various questions from tourists. North Korean tour guides are gentle and polite to tourists. They are very interested in some topics. For example, when it comes to North Korea's welfare benefits, housing, education and health care, they often talk about it very well.
They also talked about North Korea's various projects, such as the Pyongyang subway, the Arc de Triomphe and the West Sea Gate. North Koreans' view of marriage and love, some customs and habits of North Korea, tour guides are also happy to introduce to tourists. Talking about China's high housing prices and China's smog problem, North Korean tour guides are also very knowledgeable and like to discuss with tourists.
But there are some topics that North Korean guides are reluctant to talk about. Sometimes it is deliberately avoided. The first is the issue of the wages of the North Koreans, how much is the salary for the North Koreans. Although I talked to many North Korean tour guides, none of them told me clearly. They prefer to sidestep the question. Some North Korean tour guides said that their salary was 3500 yuan, and some said 6 or 700, which made it difficult to determine.
Secondly, North Korean guides do not like to talk about South Korea. In North Korea, when South Korea is mentioned, it must be said South Korea. About the life of ordinary South Koreans and economic development, North Korean guides are reluctant to talk. In general, I was exposed to some North Korean tour guides. They mostly look beautiful, friendly and simple, but they are also a little witty. What do you think of North Korean tour guides?
