Everton Club officially announced that Spanish coach Rafael Benitez was appointed as the team's head coach, and the two sides signed a three-year contract. He will lead the team in pre-season preparations starting July 5th.
Benitez, 61, has coached several European giants such as Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid. The highlight of his coaching career was in the 2004/05 season, when he led the Reds to the Champions League in Istanbul. He also coached Valencia to win La Liga twice.
In the summer of 2019, Benitez left Newcastle United to join the Chinese Super League, becoming the manager of Dalian Renren (Dalian Yifang) and left in January this year.
