Also named "Long March" is the first nuclear submarine designed and built by China itself. On August 1, 1974, the "Long March 1" was officially incorporated into the combat sequence of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. After more than ten years of hard work by countless people, China's first nuclear submarine has finally enlisted in the army!
This day is the 47th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and it is a memorable day for the builders of the nuclear submarine project. Naming the nuclear submarine "Long March" has another story to tell.
It is customary for each new type of ship to be given a name for it by its superiors, and after the voyage test, there was a boom in naming nuclear submarines.
There is a young worker named Wang Jinbao in the final assembly factory, who has just been transferred from the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai. He not only participated in the discussion, but also believed that suggestions should be made to the superiors for the reference of the leaders. Therefore, Wang Jinbao, like a reporter, went to the engineers and old workers to understand the development of nuclear submarines. Knowing more about the situation and understanding it deeper, wang Jinbao gradually formed an idea in his mind to write a proposal to the Central Military Commission. After repeated revisions, a proposal was written that embodied the wisdom of the vast number of workers and technicians.

The name "Long March" has a profound meaning. The Long March of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in the early 1930s was not only the first in Chinese history, but also the first time in world history. During the Long March, the Red Army bombed by enemy planes in the sky, and hundreds of thousands of troops underground surrounded and blocked...
China built the first nuclear submarine in the early 60s and 70s, although there was no aircraft bombing in the sky and no large army on the ground to chase and block, but in the process of development, it also encountered endless difficulties and obstacles, and it is worthy of a "long march". The difference is that one is to defeat a strong enemy, and the other is to conquer high, fine, and cutting-edge science and technology. Therefore, it can be said that nuclear submarines are declarations, nuclear submarines are propaganda teams, and nuclear submarines are seeders. According to the understanding at the time, "the name of China's nuclear submarine 'Long March' can be said to have been adopted by the leadership, and it can also be said that the leaders adopted Wang Jinbao's opinions, and the name 'Long March' not only contains the difficulties and obstacles encountered in the development of nuclear submarines, but also symbolizes the endurance of nuclear submarines to carry out ocean-going tasks." ”
The "Long March 1" nuclear submarine labeled "Made in China" finally entered the ranks of the guardians of the sea frontier with an indomitable heroic and majestic style.
On April 23 this year, the Navy's three main warships, the Long March No. 18, the Dalian, and the Hainan, were handed over to a military port in Sanya, Hainan.
