Strawberries are fruits in late spring and early summer, and consumption into winter is a bit out of season. Strawberries that go on the market in winter are generally cultivated, that is, the fruits of the greenhouse Dapeng.
China has an advantage in this regard, with an annual advantage in out-of-season strawberry sales, especially in price. However, when this out-of-season strawberry went to Vietnam, it was scolded very badly.
Vietnam Express reported that the latest batch of strawberries labeled with the label produced in Son Luo province sold for 50,000-90,000 VND (14.2-25.7 yuan) / kg, which is only one-third of the price of Vietnamese standard strawberries on the market.
A survey of the online shopping market shows that strawberries are selling very well and are quite cheap. Each plate (250 grams per plate) is sold at a price of VND 1.7-21,000, i.e. about VND 80,000 (22.8 yuan) per kilogram. Some online stores sell small fruits of 10 kg/box for VND 380,000 and large fruits of 10kg/box for VND 500,000-700,000, i.e. VND 4-70,000 (11.4-20 yuan) per kg.
Sister Mei, who works in the wholesale market, said that every day she ships 10 boxes to retail stores, all of which are purchased from Shanluo province.
Like her, Sister Aan Anh, who lives in Old Eup County, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the strawberries sold are also produced in Son Luo province, and the largest fruits are sold for 65,000-80,000 VND per kilogram, and the small fruits sell for 60,000 VND a kilogram.

Although the wholesale market mentioned above has repeatedly stated that strawberries are sold in Son Lo province, Mr Hoang Hoang, who has specialized in Son Luo province specialty fruits for many years, said that the standard local strawberry price he buys is more than VND 100,000 per kilogram, which is still the smallest fruit.
If strawberries grown from Japanese seeds are imported, the price is as high as VND 500,000 per kilogram. Therefore, he concluded, "only tens of thousands of kilograms of strawberries, definitely Chinese."

Mr. Huang explained that the reason why some Chinese strawberries are labeled locally produced in Son Rong province is because merchants think it will be easier for them to ship. Due to the fear of many Vietnamese buying Chinese goods, some businessmen are afraid to disclose the source of goods purchased from China.
According to Mr. Cheng, a strawberry farmer in Muzhou, Shanluo province, the strawberries here are bright red and the fruit size is irregular. Sellers usually filter by category and sell by size and quality of different fruits.

The native strawberry has a large head but gradually becomes smaller outward and has a pointed tail. At the same time, Chinese strawberries are all large fruits and are very uniform in size, but they do not taste as fragrant as strawberries here in Muzhou.
"Most strawberries from Muzhou do not use preservatives, so they don't stay fresh for too long, only 2-3 days at normal temperatures, and can be kept in the refrigerator for 5 days. However, Chinese strawberries are not bad for more than 10 days," Mr. Cheng said.

Yang Jiading, director of the Shanluo Provincial Planting and Plant Protection Branch, said in an interview with media reporters that Muzhou strawberries are in the peak shipping season, but the price is not as cheap as the above. Currently, general strawberries in the province are sold for VND 120,000 to VND 300,000 per kilogram (depending on the size). Strawberry varieties grown from imported Japanese seeds cost VND 400,000 to VND 700,000 per kilogram.
"In order to buy the right strawberries and ensure quality, consumers are advised to go directly to orchards or reputable stores," advises Mr. Yang.
According to the statistics of the Planting and Plant Protection Branch of Son Luo Province, 243 hectares of land in the province are being harvested this year, with an estimated output of 2,332 tons. Strawberries in the province are mainly grown in Meishan, Muzhou and Anzhou.
Strawberries are planted in Son Rô province between September and October, with the harvest season from December to mid-April, and January to March is the time of year when strawberries are at their best and highest quality in the province.
Some netizens believe that China's strawberries are cheap and in line with consumers' spending power.
