The Khuswana Svartpilen 401, since its introduction in 2018, has attracted a large number of fans with its minimalist retro style. But as competition intensifies, it's time for the car to start updating. Because, yesterday, the new road test of the Svartpilen 401 was photographed.
From the comparison chart of the current model and the spy photo, we can see that the new model has increased the windshield, the side bracket area of the fuel tank has increased significantly, and the area of the water tank guard has become larger (the radiator area of the water tank may also become larger). The frame was painted white and thicker, the engine side cover style changed, the position of the license plate frame and fender returned to the rear, and the caliper appeared to have changed slightly. The exhaust pipe should not be the final version, because it is a road test, and the side bracketing is not complete.
The engine of the new Svartpilen 401 looks the same as that seen in the previously exposed, new KTM Duke 390 and RC390 spy photos. It's hard to see from the outside what's changed inside, but everything seems to be new, which suggests either a big upgrade or a complete redesign.
Emissions may increase slightly, perhaps to offset any power losses from updating to Euro 5 emission standards, but are unlikely to increase significantly. The new engine is located inside the new frame, and the white frame may be blackened on the production car. Bolted to the frame is a new aluminum rocker arm that looks lighter than the existing model.
The dashboard is blocked due to windshields, but it is quite possible that it is a full-color TFT meter with smartphone connectivity, and it is reassuring that the shape of the fuel tank is fully preserved. So far, Huswana has not heard any official word about the new model, but given the current progress, it is not expected to see the finished model until 2022.
