Every morning at 4 o'clock, he ran to the river beach to practice ventriloquism.
In January 2000, Cao Suifeng participated in the "Star Face" finals of the "Happy 100" entertainment program of Fujian Southeast Television, where he first performed a period of ventriloquism, then a parody of Shan Tianfang's storytelling, and finally won the runner-up. Cao Suifeng donated all the 5,000 yuan he received to the Hope Project.
