The overall design scheme of the seven lake areas of Phoenix Lake in Nansha
Taking the name of Phoenix Lake as the starting point and combining the development vision of Nansha, the Phoenix Seven Lakes District is named Fengming Lake, Fengqi Lake, Fengxiang Lake, Fengju Lake, Fenglin Lake, Fengcai Lake and Fengji Lake to create a landscape of the Seven Lakes.
The Phoenix Lake Project adopts water system connectivity measures, combined with sponge city design, to carry out ecological restoration and rectification, and will play an important role after completion, which can enhance the regional storage and waterlogging prevention capacity, and create an urban leisure waterfront park that integrates rainwater and flood control, ecological landscape and entertainment and leisure functions.
Phoenix Lake is located in the central and southern areas of the central area of Jiaomen River, located in the blue axis and green axis of Jiaomen River, which is the most concentrated area of various supporting services in Nansha District, surrounded by Jiaomen Metro Station and Bus Terminal, Nansha District Government, Archive Information Planning and Exhibition Center, Library, Museum, Art Gallery, Science and Technology Museum and a series of public service supporting facilities, which is an important landscape node project to create an urban living room.
According to reports, the six quarries abandoned on the south side of Nansha Dashanbei have long existed aquaculture, and some pits also have garbage and solid waste dumping phenomena, coupled with factors such as deep mine depth, closed water body, and slow water quality exchange, resulting in the overall situation of mild to severe eutrophication in each pit, and the water ecological integrity of some lakes is poor.
The Phoenix Lake Project plans to use six abandoned quarries and depressions under high-speed bridges to create seven lakes, each of which is connected to each other through connecting canals and culverts, and connects with Jiaomen Village Chung, Jiaomen River, Ghost Hengchung and Tanwei Chung to form a landscape and water connection project with Nansha characteristics. The total construction area of the project is about 162 hectares, the water surface is about 49 hectares, the length of the shoreline is about 28 kilometers, and the total investment is about 1.351 billion yuan.
In accordance with the construction principle of "respecting the status quo, ecological integration, adapting measures to local conditions and appropriate development", the landscape design of Phoenix Lake Seven Lakes builds urban stormwater corridors, gives full play to the role of rivers and wetlands in regulating and storing stormwater, restores the damaged ecosystem, makes it a waterfront leisure belt in Nansha, and creates an urban environment suitable for entrepreneurial development and suitable for living and living.

During the construction process, the seven lakes will also focus on sponge city design, with permeable concrete for the main garden road and permeable concrete or permeable Dutch brick for the second garden road. The drainage ditches on both sides of the garden road use grass ditches to replace the traditional road drainage ditches. The project will also create a rainwater wetland, set up a shallow water area on the shore of the lake, plant aquatic plants, create a natural wetland, and purify the water body. Where the waterfront green space is partially conditioned, a vegetation buffer zone is set up, and pretreatment and purification are carried out before rainwater enters the lake.
After the completion of the Phoenix Lake Project, the water quality will be improved and the ecological environment will be improved, and the tide can be used to change water for about 6 hours a day, and the internal water quality of the water system around Phoenix Lake will reach Class III standards through the ecological construction of small wetlands and lakes. At the same time, the project will also improve the urban leisure supporting service functions. Through the connection of each lake-ring boardwalk, combined with the surrounding environment, land use and other planning, design corresponding themes and related leisure and entertainment facilities, create a multi-level waterfront landscape, and improve the quality of urban space.
According to the construction plan of Guangzhou Bidao, the Phoenix No. 2 Lake under construction in Nansha Bidao is listed as a key construction project, and the Phoenix No. 2 Lake has been opened to the public, which is the Fengqi Lake we are talking about.
Detailed construction of Phoenix Seven Lakes:
One: Phoenix No. 1 Lake, located above Dashanbei Park, that is, on the hill on the north side of the port entry road, has started construction on January 30, 2023.
Two: Phoenix No. 2 Lake, currently Fengqi Lake, has been opened. A new pedestrian landscape bridge on the south side of Huludao of this lake has been built to connect Huludao with the existing slow travel (park road) system.
Three: Phoenix No. 3 Lake and No. 4 Lake are the south side of the north campus of Binhai Experimental School and the east side of the front garden of Vanke Fu, the main project has been completed, and the greening is under maintenance.
