5G performance disappointing? Blame for overbragging at the beginning, and eager to make money, starting first from the mobile phone

author:The Internet is a messy show

On October 31, 2019, the three major operators officially announced 5G commercial packages, and officially launched 5G commercial packages on November 1. At this point, China has officially entered the era of 5G commercialization.

More than three years have passed, up to now, the mainland has built more than 2.34 million 5G base stations, the number of 5G base stations accounts for more than 50% of the world, this year will open 600,000 new 5G base stations, this year the total number of 5G base stations is expected to exceed 2.9 million.

The number of 5G mobile phone users has exceeded 575 million, and the number of users who have opened 5G packages has reached more than 1.1 billion, which can be said that China has built the world's largest 5G network.

However, although China has the most 5G base stations in the world, the largest number of 5G users in the world, and the highest 5G network penetration rate in the world, many users are still quite disappointed with 5G.

If you don't believe it, you can take a look at the comments on the Internet, all say that compared to 4G, 5G seems to have no difference, the only difference is that the mobile phone is expensive, the package price is expensive, and then the data is not used...

So why is that? In my opinion, this is not the fault of 5G, and the reason may have to be found from the operator and the industry itself.

First, at the beginning of 5G, it was blown too hard.

I don't know if you remember, when you first turned on 5G, you said how fast 5G was, 10 times that of 4G, and downloaded a movie in a few seconds or something, but what about the reality? It's faster than 4G, but is it really 10 times?

To reach 10 times the speed of 4G, 5G needs to be under millimeter wave, and the theoretical limit speed will be 10 times, but it is far from being reached, and it is actually difficult for operators to really reach the theoretical limit speed based on the number of users, load and other reasons.

It is said that the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment, and the gap will cause emotion, which is probably the case.

Second, 5G should be more oriented to the industry, not individual C-end users.

I don't know if you have an impression, an expert once said that the biggest scenario of 5G is actually in industry, not C business mobile phone users, but in fact, operators start to cover from C-end users, because the C-end users are large, the easiest to recover costs and make money.

Therefore, operators, mobile phone manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, etc., are calling on everyone to quickly change to 5G mobile phones, open 5G packages, and enjoy the thrill brought by 5G.

But in the end, the 5G mobile phone was bought, the 5G package was opened, and it was found that there was little difference with 4G, the speed was faster, but there was no 10 times exaggeration, the key is that no application is exclusive to 5G, what 5G can do, 4G can also do it.

It means that if you don't use a 5G mobile phone, you don't feel that 4G speed is not enough, and you don't feel that 5G is fast to the sky, there is not much difference, so why use 5G? Why spend more money, but no upgrade in experience?

Seriously, 5G is not useless, but very useful, the real scenario of 5G is in industry, such as remote control, the Internet of Everything and so on.

But these areas are far from ordinary users, and ordinary users, only pay attention to their mobile phone use of 5G compared with the use of 4G, whether there is subversion, but in the actual mobile phone application, there is no subversion, so there is a gap, and then it is disappointing.

So it's not that 5G is useless, but that operators publicized too hard earlier, and mainly started from C vendors, and then 5G dedicated applications did not keep up, resulting in more than 3 years, everyone is still not so cold to 5G.
