When Guan Lingzhi resolutely decided to choose a career as a singer after graduation, her parents' opposition forced her to leave Taipei, and at the age of 21, she went to a strange city, asked around whether the restaurant needed a singer, and started her own music career. Guan Lingzhi has always been proud of the musical talent that his parents themselves melted into their blood. In 2009, when recording a TV performance, she chose "You with your head swinging" to dedicate to her mother. However, two days before the show was recorded, her mother died. "Latin jazz has always been my forte. I suddenly felt like I had never sung to my mother in my native language. Guan Lingzhi felt that the story told by "You with the Head Swing" was very similar to her mother's story, and she had the idea of making an album to remember her mother. The Hakka folk songs that I had heard from childhood flowed out from the pen of Guan Lingzhi, mixed with the thoughts of my mother, and after only one and a half months, the album was successfully recorded. A number of masters participated in the production of this album, including the Golden Melody Award Hakka singer Xie Yuwei and the well-known bassist Yoshinori Kim. "A lot of people have come to help fulfill my wishes, and I don't have that feeling to make a record like this again, it's so special."
"I believe that 'winter will be spring'"
Losing his mother is the biggest suffering that Guan Lingzhi has encountered, but the "You who Swing your head" produced because of this also made Guan Lingzhi stand on the podium of the Golden Melody Award. Subsequently, she was nominated for the "Taiwan Original Pop Music Award" and was nominated for the "Chinese Golden Melody Award" for Best Jazz/Blues Artist of the Year.
