When he was a child, Tang Hanxiao had a tape recorder at home, he listened to Jacky Cheung's songs every day, and later learned the piano and became more and more fond of music. The music market he had felt before was completely different from what he was now, but it was always changing, and his own mentality was adjusting with it. When he was in school, Tang Hanxiao was a rock youth who only listened to rock bands. When electronic music (EDM) became popular, he was very resistant, thinking it was rigid and numbing. But then he gradually realized that electronic music was in line with the technological civilization and the rhythm of life at that time, and people needed this thing. "Music itself serves the spirit, and there is nothing wrong with a certain form of music when it is needed by the times." So he turned to thinking about how to make music well in such an era and market environment.
Engaged in behind-the-scenes music creation for more than ten years and then walking to the front of the stage, Tang Hanxiao's understanding of the music industry is deeper than that of ordinary singers. He believes that many musicians have times when they resist rejection and are confused in the face of changes in the current music market. "Because we're going to find out how the music market is getting sinking? Why is the way people listen to songs completely different from what they thought before? Why did the medium of listening to songs become what it is now? "His solution is to actively adapt to the way it is now, embracing and even falling in love with the changes in the market." In addition to playing new songs, singers also have to sing Internet hot songs, Tang Hanxiao will let himself fall in love with this Internet hot song before performing, at least in the moment on the stage he is immersed in the song. "I must embrace the changes in the market, and only by embracing it can I get along with it."
When Tang Hanxiao entered the music industry in 2008, the song programs and various music charts of radio and television stations no longer had the influence of the early years, "I think this is the transformation of the media of the whole era, not getting better, nor becoming worse." But he agrees that at present, singers still need to show the stage of new songs, and they need to make new songs heard by more people on a larger platform. Tang Hanxiao observed that the way everyone listens to music has changed and has become fond of accepting new songs with videos, so "playing songs" needs to pay more attention to how to convey the emotions of music to the audience's mind through visual and auditory collocation. The Internet has lowered the technical threshold for music creation, and massive amounts of information have also distracted the audience. There is a view that it is more difficult to find an audience that likes it for a new song now, but Tang Hanxiao does not see it that way. "It's easier." He believes that lower technical thresholds have made competition in the music market more levelly. One student couldn't even play the guitar strings very accurately, but he wrote a very heartfelt song that is now easy to hear. But this kind of thing is difficult to happen in the era of the record industry, he needs to become a signed singer of the record company first, and the company invests resources to promote it, so that his work can be heard.
