Senegal Salt Works

Senegal has a long history of salt mining, with an annual output of 500,000 tons of salt, and is the largest salt producer in West Africa. About one-third of salt production comes from local workshops, mainly for salt markets in the country and neighbouring countries.

The Republic of Senegal (La République du Sénégal), or Senegal for short, is located at the westernmost tip of the western African prominence. It is bordered by Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south, and the Cape Verde Islands to the west.

Opened on August 20, 1960, the flag is rectangular in shape and has a length to width ratio of 3:2. The flag consists of three parallel and equal vertical rectangles, from left to right, green, yellow and red, with a green five-pointed star in the middle of the yellow rectangle.
