IT House News on March 14, Microsoft today released the Edge 111 browser stable version, the latest version number is 111.0.1661.41. This update significantly introduces an enhanced sidebar that integrates with the AI tool Edge Copilot, optimizes the interface, and more.

New Edge sidebar:
Microsoft introduced a new Edge sidebar in the stable version of Edge 111, providing many new features to improve user productivity, convenience, and user experience.

Edge Copilot is a powerful tool that helps users be more productive and efficient. It provides intelligent recommendations and insights based on web usage context and user goals.
A new Bing icon in the toolbar, Edge Copilot helps users compose better emails, search the web faster, and learn new skills, all more conveniently.
- Optimize the sidebar UI
With the new auto-hide feature, users can maximize the productivity and convenience of the sidebar without sacrificing valuable screen space.
The Edge sidebar can be hidden when not in use by the user and only reappears when the user needs it.
- Improved sidebar interaction
The new hover feature allows users to open the sidebar by hovering over the Bing icon in the toolbar. This increases user productivity and convenience by providing a seamless and intuitive way to access their most-used tools.
In addition, Microsoft continues to add Microsoft Feed functionality to the Microsoft 365 Edge new tab page.
Microsoft is rolling out a new experience for the Microsoft 365 tab of the Edge Enterprise New Tab page. This experience will feature a new layout centered around a larger version of Microsoft Feed, providing more productivity content and moving productivity cards, including important emails, recent SharePoint sites, upcoming events, and to-dos, to the right Microsoft 365 tab.
Improve security
Enhanced security mode now supports WebAssembly for macOS x64 and Linux x64. More cross-platform (ARM64) support is expected in the future.
Introducing a new policy to clean data in IE mode when exiting the browser
Microsoft introduced a new "Internet Explorer ModeClearDataOnExitEnabled" policy that allows browsing history to be deleted from Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer mode when the Edge browser is closed.
Users can also configure this setting in the "Clear Internet Explorer browsing data" option in the Privacy, Search, and Services menu of Settings (edge://settings/ privacy).
