WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross revealed that during their time together at WWE (really WWF), The Rock called Steve Austen "Baldy."
Rock and Austin are recognized as the greatest WWE superstars of all time.
Although they were at odds on screen in the late 1990s and early 2000s, they also became friends behind the scenes.
Ross, who was WWE's head of talent relations at the time, spoke about the two superstars in the latest episode of the Grohling JR podcast. In one of the highlights, Rose talked about mutual respect between the two superstars, and he also revealed the funny nickname Rock gave his former rivals.
"They have a lot of respect for each other," Ross said. "I remember Locke giving Steve Austin his favorite nickname was — Bald.
He would come up to me and say, 'How is the bald man today?' I would say, "He's still the same old man, grumpy, nervous and bald."
"It's funny, how can you get these nicknames that never came up, so to speak, but it's just out of friendship and camaraderie of the team."
In 1996, Steve Austin shaved his head shortly before becoming the iconic Cold Stone character in WWE. Ironically, while Johnson still had his hair while working with Austin, he later shaved it in 2010 as well.
Steve Austin beat The Rock in the main battle event of Wrestling Mania in 1999 and Wrestling Mania in 2001.
In 2003 wrestling mania, the pair engaged in one-on-one matchups between legendary opponents for the last time, and Johnson took the victory. The game also marked the end of Austin's 14-year wrestling career.
In 2014, both took part in the early 30's promotional campaign and once again took to the stage of wrestling mania.
